Brandon Rios Wants Victor Ortiz This content is protected Brandon Rios has made a name for himself both in and out of the ring. His record as a lightweight stands at 25-0 with 18 knockouts. He is a great inside fighter in the ring and when you see him joking around in Roberto Garcia his trainer's boxing gym during the Antonio Margarito training camp. you say hey this kid has personality much like Floyd Mayweather or a young Cassis Clay. His fight in September against Anthony Peterson one of the infamous Peterson brothers was a dominate performance were he was hit below the belt at least five or six times. Brandon Rios has been calling out Victor Ortiz who fights as a junior welterweight for sometime now and in my opinion it is a fight that should be made. Victor has had all the glory of a rising prospect for a few years. now and it's time the spot light is put on other future champions. while Victor signed with golden boy Brandon has not had the luck Ortiz did in getting a major promotional company to sign him. instead he is fighting his way to the top. when Rios Fought Peterson last month he showed just how ready he is to fight the best. in 2004 he became the amateur American featherweight champion and knows Victor Ortiz personally. he said Victor plays this role of a kid who had a hard life growing up. however as Brandon puts it Victor had it easy growing up. he said almost everything Victor says is a lie. he also went on to say Victor would never fight him because Maidana knocked him out so he would run if Brandon was in the ring with him. This is Brandon Rios last Fight Against Anthony Peterson what we have here is two fighters about the same age in the prime of their career. both grew up in California and have Mexican style boxing in their blood. in December Victor will be fighting Lamont Peterson the brother of Anthony Peterson the man Brandon Rios exposed in the ring. however a week Before Victors fight against Lamont Peterson,Brandon will be fighting Noe Bolandos at the Honda Center in Anaheim California. when and if Victor beats Peterson the fight everyone should be begging for is Ortiz vs Rios. it would be a toe to toe battle that might just become a fight of the year candidate.
Dam...You guys think Oritz would dare to answer back to Rios? This fight is gonna boil, I dont think theres a fight that I want to watch more than this one.
Actually, they both grew up in Kansas, not California. Then they both moved to Oxnard. I don't see why Ortiz should care about Rios though. He's the name, Rios isn't. The only way it happens is if HBO pushes it, and they're almost never stupid enough to push a fight between a Golden Boy fighter and a Top Rank fighter.
