Yep fair, I'd like better for Chisora too but realistically what's out there for him right now that people want to see? Not being funny here, I genuinely struggle to think of a fight that's both a good fight for him in terms of risk reward prestige pay etc. and that people would want to watch. Now that I say that, there's Wardley though isn't there and he'd pretty much tick all the boxes
I don't know enough about what fights Parker has turned down to judge this. Does anyone? Is he a modern day Evander Holyfield?
The biggest names I can think of off the top of my head are Tyson Fury, because they are like brothers and were in the same camp, and I think Hrgovic for an IBF eliminator where the money was apparently relatively bad, something like 150k. For the most part Parker has relatively more dangerous fights for relatively less reward than the hus contemporaries and other champs of this era.
Not a fight I want to see but feel for Parker in this situation and he has earned the right to face an opponent where he would be a clear favorite. Obviously the elephant in the room here in terms of viable competition is Kabayel but worth noting 1) they have the same manager 2) they have both come off the back of a string of high risk fights and 3) Kabayel has been tactical around his fight selection since Saudi and father time is not on his side and he is in a strong position. It is not necessarily the most straight forward of fights to make. So really, Parker has nowhere to go other than to fight mid to lower end ranked fighters right now until the dust settles after DDD/Usyk. I think Del is probably the best opponent for him right now and he'll be up for it.
Lol. Words are cheap for the first undisputed heavyweight champ in 24 years, and the first undisputed cruiser in 30...the first 4-belt champ in either. And he never, ever went into another guy's backyard to do it, either, did he? Oh, wait... Really, dude, you are being ridiculous. No one can stop you from holding ridiculous opinions, but let's call them for what they are.
He has had his criticisms in the past but ducking fighters is not one of them. To be fair his resume is very good for this era considering he has essentially had to rebuild his career twice. Takam Dmitrenko Ruiz Joshua Whyte H Fury Chisora I Chisora II Joyce Wilder Zhang Bakole Worth noting he fought Joyce/Whyte/Joshua/Ruiz all in their brief windows of respective primes and Bakole/Wilder/Zhang were all coming off the back of highlight reel KO's when he fought them.
I hope that Parker will not fight Chisora, that fight is a waste of time, let Joshua come out of the den and give Parker a chance to get revenge...
Yes , exactly . An easy undisputed with avoiding mandatory title defences and a total of 5 opponents on a legacy is meaningless . So meaningless that its not even in saudi arabia .
This is absolute rubbish. Usyk is pursuing HIS goals and HIS idea of what makes a legacy. Not yours. Really, grow up.
Sure . And his legacy is like said 5 opponents, without making it to the main event in riyadh . He wants to be at least on paper a two times undisputed , undefeated hw champion even if its in his very case meaningless , just a bit of well paid propaganda for the ukrainian people to make a story out of it . But i,m fine with it !
Of course not . But what can parker do when usyk ducks him and dubois veeeeeeery suddenly gets ill a day before the fight ??? Parker was willing to fight dubois and usyk ! Btw : dubois` sudden illness was very comfortable for usyk . No fear dubois looses against parker and the need to face parker instead of dubois for undisputed . Smart ;-)
I mean he could have a keep busy fight with someone that he didn't beat convincingly twice before or push the issue on being ducked by fighting Kabayel but Like I said, From Parker's perspective im not mad at it and its probably the smartest thing to do right now but as a fan I might skip out on this one or just catch the highlights the next day if some intresting actually happens.
usyk needs to fight parker or kabayel if hes not gonna fight either after dubois idc who he is start stripping the belt not holding up division for him just to chase stupid money fight vs joshua who hes beat already twice
Usyk ducking Parker? Do me a favour. You're having a laugh if you think he's ducking that bloke after who he's beaten. Now if Usyk fights a light touch after Dubois I might give him a bit of stick, but if he fights some dangerous dude like Kabayel or Wardley then you can't say he's ducking Parker.
