No Version of Wladimer Klitschko Could Beat "That Past Best" Lewis, Vitali Fought

I disagree. Wlad has been good at concentrating and alert at all times. Not so Lewis. At times he was looking like he was falling asleep or was thinking about tomorrow's shopping list during fights. His cockiness and apathy made him careless at times.

The question was always what Lewis showed up. A game Lewis who steps on the gas early on or the one who is playing games and is toying with his opponent for no reason at all.

 

Well if Wlad wasn't losing to Ross Ruritty and Corrie Sanders whilst Lewis was still active then this fight could have happened. I wish it did as Lewis would have brutalised Wlad and stopped him within a few rounds.

Wlad looks tentative and fights safety first aginst guys he has every conceivable advantage over. Against Lewis these advantages that Wlad bases his whole style and game plan around would be nullified. Wlad does not have the inside game or chin to deal with the pressure, rugged toughness and intensity that Lewis would bring and bar a lucky punch there is only one outcome for me.

 

Great post! I really think Vlad is a special boxer, but Lewis walks through him. I would have bet ever dollar I had on it.

 

I could actually see this going a bit like the Razor Ruddock fight if it was built up as a grudge match.
I've come to like Wlad a lot since the build up to Haye,but the reality of the situation is that Wlad on his best night would struggle to lose a close UD against Lennox on his worst night.And that includes Rahman and McCall.Wlad's straight up style was made for Lewis to overpower with some aplomb.

Wlad is talented dont get me wrong but their are some very big intangibles that pretty much means Lewis brutalizes him. For starters Lewis would make Wlad empty his bowels when the **** gets tough.

I've seen that fight and that Mavrovic had 10 times the chin Wlad will ever have so I wouldn't be so quick to laugh at him. If Wlad was ever hit the way Lewis hit Mavrovic I'd bet my house that he wouldn't last the fight.

David Tua had a cast iron chin and Lewis hit him with everything but the kitchen sink. Had it been Wlad instead of Lewis standing across the ring from David that night, the Baby Klit would have been Terminated.

 

Wlad had a physical and/or athletic advantage over every boxer he faced. He will have NEITHER vs Lennox.

Lennox's speed is overrated to hell because he never fought anyone faster than a slug. Wlad's the faster fighter and has the better footwork. And, unlike Lennox, he's actually fought fast fighters in their prime. Byrd, Chambers, and Haye are all faster than anyone Lennox faced. Wlad lost a handful of rounds combined if you're being generous to his opposition.
