Its going...could be better if I wasn't laid off. 3 months now.

Oct. 18th will be here in a hurry & this is Kellys chance to make a huge statement, even if its against an old man...a legend...but still an old man.

I've been going back and forth with this fight in my mind.

Kelly is pretty much a straight forward - 1-2 Guy - BHop feeds on these type of guys. However - lately - Hopkins work rate has been the worst I've seen in a long time. I think Kelly will outwork him and pull out a decision.

By no means to I see BHop getting really beat up in this fight - cause he just doesn't get beat up. Nor would I be surprised if he actually wins this fight.

As of right now - I'm taking Kelly - but for some reason - as the fight gets closer - I'm leaning more torwards Hopkins. Experience is playing a big role in my head and Hopkins has all the experience you'll need.

Yes. That was exactly my thoughts on that fight.

 

I like Hopkins, so I do not want anyone thinking I'm a hater or being disrespectful toward him. Pavlik will knock Hopkins out inside 10 rounds. However, the first 3 or 4 rounds will be close. The middle rounds will show Kelly gradually taking over. By the 8th round BHop will be out of gas, and unable to keep KP off of him. Bernard's stamina sucks at this point in time, and you CANNOT run out of gas against Pavlik, and get away with it.

 

so you pretty much see it playing out how the b-hop calzaghe fight played out?? (obviously with a different ending)

 

Well -- yes and no. As far as the over all fight, it might be somewhat similar. However, Calzaghe was just as culpable in a lot of the holding an clinching as Bernard. Joe was right there to be hugged. Pavlik won't be. Because of reach issues, et, joe had to get a lot closer to BHop than Kelly will. Calzaghe/Hopkins was damn near unwatchable. I expect Pavlik/Hopkins to have considerabley more action.

Well, you can't really blame the picks. Pavlik at the time was hot and everybody thought he was going to murder him. It is kind of funny reading these old posts though.
