Ward is undoubtedly the favourite and I would not bet against him. But Froch does seem to have a habit of winning, especially when you don't expect him to. AA was expected the KO Froch due to his poor defence. Taylor was winning comfortably until Froch found a way to win. Froch is often up against, faster, more skilled, technically better opposition yet he keeps on winning and against all odds has made it to the final. I would not put any big money against him myself, anything could happen.
So Froch can't win away? Is that what you're telling us? What little faith you have in the superiority of European SMWs, a topic that you devoted another thread to. Here you're telling us that they can't win away.
depends I guess , Is this yet another fight in Wards bedroom , with his mum and dad as judges and his best mate as the ref ? Does Carl also get to cheat like **** providing he wraps himself in the stars and stripes and thanks God after the fight ? ( I wonder what would happen if Ward tried to fight Bute ? How would they both hide at home and get their own judges and ref ? )
Time for the TV networks to mute her. She must have a wireless mike on her. Just don't put it for the next fight!
No thats not what I have said at all moron atsch. I did note that American SMWs cant seem to win big fights in Europe though
How many times have I heard this??? Wasnt Kessler, Bika, AA suppose to KO this glass jawed joke as some of you dudes like to put it??? Its gonna be fun bumping these threads once Ward puts on a clinic against Froch...Froch is a crowd pleaser, no doubt about it but he's in over his head once he gets in with Ward. People tend to have short a memory when it comes to Froch...lets not forget how bad Froch does against solid boxers...He had his hands full against Taylor, Kessler and Dirrell...Kessler showed us that you have to outbox Froch...If Dirrell and Taylor was mentally tougher they would beaten Froch as well.
I didn't say that he was going to, merely that he could because Ward's jaw isn't granite by any means and Froch has the chin to wade through fire and land one of his own. I seriously doubt that happens because of the wide gulf in the mens' respective boxing ability but it's a possibility to explain how Froch could win, which is exactly what TS wanted us to explain.
Do you feel Ward is mentally tough enough? Consider how Ward had to keep looking at the ref against Bika and have all of his fights in his home country and so far home state. That seems to show a weakness
Froch won't knock Ward out and because of that he has no chance of winning this fight. I don't think this has anything to do with the fact that Ward is by far the better boxer or that there is no way Froch can win on points. Boxing is a subjective sport. Its based on people's interpretation of what they see which (sorry to say) is influenced by what they believe before they watch something. The problem with trying to win a descision against Andre Ward is that there are too many people like the thread starter that think he's the second coming and litteraly can't picture him losing. When you go into a fight with a guy who has that type of presence its becomes very difficult to win the close rounds. I can easily see Ward winning a dodgy descision against Froch in a fight he gets out worked and is forced to back up for most of the rounds. I remember reading a mail bag article where Vivik Wallance had mentioned that most fight fans would be suprised at howmany people in the media truelly had difficulty even contemplating a Ward loss. Knowing this and given some judges' score cards in some of his fights I don't think this is an unreasonable fear to have going into this fight. Although there isn't much to support this I get the feeling that (in a general sense) the psych of the American fight fan/media may be slightly fragile and badly in need of the next B-Hop/Floyd/Sweat Pea/SLR type ATG.
It may not be grinite but its far from weak as some of you guys are trying to imply here...I'm not saying that Froch cant win but, given Ward's ability and his skillset, I dont see what Froch brings to the table to make me think differently...Sorry, but you got to have more than heart to beat Ward.
Did I say weak? If you're going to keep trying to argue points that I didn't make, I'm going to stop and send you a link for a reading comprehension tutor. I said SUSPECT chin. He's been dropped and rocked early in his career by guys with little pop and that means that until I see him absorbing shots by punchers, I'm going to have a huge question mark by his jaw. Froch is the man to answer that question if he can land, but that's a lot easier said than done and lesser boxers than Ward have clowned Froch.
