I'm not sure where specifically this can be seen. Maybe a fight hype video. But there's an alex ariza video where he's talking about maidanas weight and he basically said that they wanted to come in with a weight advantage and it was a part of their game plan. The 167 pounds or whatever it was was the correct weight but he also mentioned that after the fight they weighed him and he lost like 16 pounds in the ring during the fight so he got back down to 151 or something like that i'm not 100%sure about the weights but i do remember that ariza was saying that they were pretty close to 147 after the fight.
As I said many times before, if people really believe Floyd goes into the ring at 146/7 then they would believe anything.
he's a little little guy with thin bones and thin legs. Walk around, in between fights, he's not any thicker than me, and I could still easily make lightweight and usually (nowadays) weigh about 142 or so.
I guess Maidana was hiding some weights in his trunks. Who knows why there are weight differences and who cares. I just want to see how they use their advantages or disadvantages in their ring strategies. It obviously takes more than a weight advantage to beat Floyd. I would like to see him fight someone fast.
I've always find Floyd's fight night weights to be a bit fishy. During his run at HBO, they rarely showed Floyd's fight night weights. Once he started fighting at showtime, they show his weight just barely over the welterweight limit, but I think it's completely BS. It's most likely part of the deal he's got going on with Showtime. Show false weight numbers, just like Scott taking a dive and nobody at Showtime bats an eyelash. There is no way Maidana is 17 lbs heavier. No way. They look the same size. If people want to know what a 17 lb difference look like, check out Pacquiao vs Margarito. If people want to see a fighter a with a weight advantage, check out Salido vs Lomachenko. To put things in perspective, 17 lbs is like a good size thanksgiving turkey. Maidana did not look like a turkey bigger. Floyd's fight night weights are probably part of the marketing. An Illusion. People are not blind.
****, I didn`t realize the hate for Mayweather runs this deep. This guys gets absolutely no credit. unbelievable
And to dispute anyone who claims Floyd is always at the same weight, look at this promo pic, where Floyd doesn't have defined abs: http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/2807861/382472_10151434747245756_580365187_n.jpg His weigh in pics show him more defined, which means he lost weight to make weight. With his height, and body shape, I have a hard time believe he's about 150 lbs.
