compare if you will in terms of acheivement marquez is to pac what kessler is to joe. Perhaps morales and barrera (apart from the first barrera fight) can be considered similar to b-hop and jones in terms of them being in their career twilight. Plus pac has lost and by rights should lose again at the weekend.

 

jmm is a much proven boxer than kessler. p4p #3 and 130 lineal when pac beat him. you cannot compare pac's victory over barrera and morales as similar to bhop and jones. jones is just a money fight for joe and almost everybody knows that he is already done. pac beat morales just after morales won a close first fight though morales loss to raheem, it was on a higher weight class. and pac did stop a never been stopped morales before while joe failed to stop a previoulsy been ko'ed jones. i admit that bhop win looked good right after the pavlik fight but it is no way more better than than pac's demolition of barrera in 2003.

Marquez is almost always in the top 3.

The P4P debate is stupid to begin with! The arguments are like would Custer have beaten the Indians at Little Big Horn if they had the same number of men! or would Japan had lost World War II if they had an Atom Bomb. There is never a chance to compare Pacquiao and Calzaghe. One is a great fighter within his weight against similar sized fighters as is the other.

If you really want to compare two fighters then put them in the ring!! The better man will win.
Otherwise stop this P4P nonesense and shut up!

You're right that joe would not hurt manny at the same weight. i honestly do think that joe is faster and more versatile, and would create a problem for pac's style, but pac would be relentlessly quick and high pressure - a fight joe likes to fight. pac doesn't play mind games like joe can though, which could get joe an advantage in the later rounds if pac didn't KO him earlier - but no one has yet, and calzaghe has yet to betray any sort of glass jaw. i can't call it, but daaaamm that would be a crazy fight.

well it means who is better, not necessarily who would win. Styles make fights and sometimes a better fighter can lose to a worse one.

However in this case Pac is both better and would beat the **** out of Calzaghe
