P4P isn't only based on who can beat the other 1vs1, it's mostly based on general accomplishments and recent resume especially when two fighters aren't in the same weight division. You also can't judge who would win 1vs1 because we have no idea how Pac would be at Light heavyweight or Super middleweight against Calzaghe and there's no way the speed willl be the same so it's difficult to judge.

Based on resume and recent accomplishments Pacquiao wipes the floor with Calzaghe and one-sidedly.

Agreed. The lighter weights are far more brutal and packed with talent during Pac's best years, versus the years Joe fought at his respective weight class..

Although I feel Pac could have done a better job with the timing of his opponents, he never backed down.. Its my opinion that he never beat JMM, who actually deserves the #1 pfp spot. But Pac is a half step behind him in overall ability, which says a ton about Pacman.

Same size? Joe would have not survived the kind of punches that KD'd him if it was Pac throwing it.

When has Calzaghe EVER been open to the straight left? :huh

The straight has always been the one which he gets caught with more often than not.

Because your definition is so reductive and so simplistic that it is indeed wrong. You have lifted out only one sentence of my post, but you have misunderstood it. Semantically our two statements can be construed as meaning the same thing - but in reality they do not. Your definition implies that p4p is decided upon a subjective opinion on a fighter's abilities, ie who is better at boxing. That sentence from my post has been taken out of context, it was intended to show that p4p is not about h2h (who would win) but that p4p is, after considering several factors not just skillset, about who is the greater boxer, in terms of achievement, resume, recent form etc.

I can never work out whether you are really really biased, or a joker, or just an imbecile.

Study the boxers with a non-biased view? Watch their best 5 performances?

    Mayweather's Top 5 Performances:

    1 - TKO10 Diego Corrales
This win and performance beats anything on Calzaghe's resume

2- UD12 Jose Luis Castillo, their 2nd fight

    3 - TKO10 Ricky Hatton

    4 - W12 Oscar De La Hoya

    5 - UD12 Zab Judah or TKO8 Genaro Hernandez

This comfortably beats Calzaghe's top 5, both in the quality of the wins and the quality of performances.

Mayweather was more skilled and had better ability than Calzaghe, has a better resume, has won more world titles, has won more world titles in more weight divisions, was world p4p#1 for over 3 years continuously - should I go on?

Mayweather is a significantly greater fighter than Calzaghe in every way. Go watch some boxing.
