Alexandru Manea has the most consecutive losses that I know of. http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=18803&cat=boxer
For a perfect example of how the Germans pad a record look at this guy' http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=368978&cat=boxer
Jesse Clark deserves at least an honorable mention. Buster Douglas thought Clark such a worthy opponent he fought him THREE times. Cynics might accuse ol' Buster of padding the record, but I personally think Jesse was on the cusp of turning the corner and becoming a real threat . . . . . . to Manea.
Peter Buckley went around 100 fights without a win, it included 2 draws though. Manea must have the most losses without a win, I can't think of anyone thats remotely close to him!
Yea, Buckley went winless in 88 bouts. Here's a list of winless boxers: Alexandru Manea – Cruserweight, 0-52-0 (12 KO) Carlos Rocha Tomar - Junior Middleweight, 0-48-1 (18 KO) Klaus Hein - Junior Middleweight, 0-36-4 (14 KO) Eric Crumble (Middleweight, 0-31-0 (31 KO) 1 NC Ed Strickland - Heavyweight, 0-30 (30 KO) Jesse Clark - Heavyweight, 0-30 (27 KO)
Nice thread, Manea is one of those losers you have to respect, only 12 stoppages from 52 straight losses, and I doubt he gets a big purse to soften the blows, shorter fights or not, their commitment is commendable. And it takes a unusual kind of bravery to be Eric Crumble and keep coming back for more. Perennial losers like these guys, and the ones a level or two up up who have 10-30 losing records, are the lifeblood of boxing.
