I disagree here hermano; Although I admit Casa would have made a difficult fight for Floyd I strongly believe Money was favorite to win.I remember at the time there were 4 champs at 130,undefeated Floyd,Chico, freitas and el cepillo.
Corrales was seen as the beast for his power and aggressive style.Freitas record was more the result of weak competition.Floyd and Casa were the technicians. The way Floyd handled Chico that night made me believe -and was damn right-that Floyd was the big deal.Casamayor lost a close decision against freitas ( I think he won).
Casamayor was a master technician only that Floyd was the best of his time.:good

If Casamayor would have beaten Castillo I think he would have gotten a Floyd fight.

I kind of agree with you here but remember that Casa also beat Corrales badly in their first fight! Corrales was coming back pissed off ( for losing against May ) and Casa took him down hard. Yes, Diego knocked down Casa but Casa came back to put him down three times.

I am not saying that Casa would had beaten Floyd easily but anything could had happen in that fight. And yes, Casa beat Freitas. :good

Casamayor was a great fighter in his day but never on Mayweather's level. Let's not forget, Mayweather was an absolute animal at 130 and 135. Hand problems were his biggest foe at those weight classes.

I agree, I was so mad at seeing Casamayor so passive! He hardly did anything except move and play it safe and that's why they gave it to Castillo. :?

Bro, Casamayor was much better than Lorenzo Aragón ( the Cuban that Floyd beat 13-12 at the
( amateurs ), so Floyd wasn't that much higher than Casa. If Aragón almost beat him then Casa most certainly can!

¿ When was the last time we saw PBF worried before a fight ? , ¿ was he worried about Cotto ? mmm don't think so , he was worried about his trainner and more importantly he was worried about Diaz tactics , he even asked Gamboa to help him descifer Diaz tactics , that tells you a lot . Ever since he fought Aragon in Atlanta 96 ( btw a fight that could have gone either way but Floyd had home advantage ) he's been a fan of the Cuban school and of course once Casamayor started making noise in the pro's he avoided him like the plague , too risky . I believe a prime Casamayor would have beaten Floyd soundly ( unless he gets robbed again ) . Mayweather is the BIGGEST fan of the Cuban school in the pro ranks at the moment , always has been . Peace .

yeah, Castillo got his attention early and Casa really played it safe late while Castillo brought the fight. Casamayor was too inconsistent to really campaign for a Mayweather fight.

Amateur fights are different than Pro fights though, Cotto fought 2 fighters that beat him as amateur and he beat both of them as a Pro.

¿ From where did he called them ? , ¿ from inside his closet ? , ¿ from his toilet while taking a dump ? , ¿ did he called them right after he ( PBF ) won a fight ? or more importantly : ¿ did he called those fighters while they were in their prime ? . That's just another of those videos he loves to put outthere to romance his "fans" and keep the buzz going , that's why he makes $30 mill a fight kiddo , he's a Master at hyping himself . Peace .

Somebody get these Cubans a real fanbase. After every fight some Cuban poster "Cubano ho bo" or some ****....Comes on here and tries to down play other fighters performances to uplift their own guys. The **** is so transparent. These newben Cubans are worse then any Pac or PBF fan. Thank god they are very small.

It's mind boggling on a island with such a rich boxing history that they have fans that are so lacking.

I thought Freitas won rounds 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 8, plus the KD and the FAIR point deduction.
