No wonder Hopkins ran from an earlier Joe fight.

After seeing Calzaghe beat Hopkins it is not surprising that Hopkins ran from fighting Joe in Joe's prime. Joe would have made B-Hop look an even bigger pansy.

Fact. Hopkins ran the first time Joe offered him a fight and only took on last weekends fight because he thought JC was past it. Even an aged Calzaghe beat old man tear.

Gee, I wonder if you're a propagandizing Joe Calzaghe fan or just an objective independent boxing lover with no bias for any fighters and who gives a very fair perspective/account of what's going on? It's hard to tell. :think

Clearly a response to the fact that last Saturday night PROVED that a prime B-Hop beats a prime Calzaghe.

    And you don't like it.

The fight was within 1 point on most people's cards. Isn't it possible that a 5 years younger Hopkins would have had the energy level to win one round he didn't later in the fight?

I think Calzaghe is the lucky one that it didn't happen before.

I'd take a prime Hopkins over a prime Calzaghe.

I respect BHOP for his genius but I want entertainment and throwing a couple of punches each round and then headbutting followed by holding just aint gangster! JC came to fight and wanted to trade. BHOP came to fake low blows because he was tired from JC workrate.

A fact is something either TRUE, or that you can prove to be true.

Nobody can prove that, and its widely believed to be bull****.

You are ignoginr the fact that Hopkins is way further from his prime that Calzaghe. And consierig how well Hopkins DID do, I'd say that its a fair analysis of an earlier fight that he would have won against Calzaghe, possibly stopping him.

Fact Joe waited for Hopkins to get old and picked a ripe age of 43 to fight Hopkins.

Thats actualy incorrect ..There was an attempt made in 2002..Hopkins was to sign a multi year fight deal with Showtime and one of those fighst was supposed to be the Calzaghe fight ..

Hopkins dropped him and controlled the fight through the first four rounds as a 43 year old.

If he was say, 40, or even 38 - I would bet the house on Hopkins to win.

You have got to be joking.:nut

  14. Well that was a poor and slower Calzaghe and he still convincingly won so its no suprise Hopkins run back in 02.

    That is HILARIOUS!

In 2002 it was "Joe Who-Zag-where?" in the US, Bernard wouldn't have even heard of Joe Clazaghe then.

That was back when Frank Warren was still feeding him the Tocker Pudwill's of the world.

Byron Mitchell put Calzaghe through a big scare a year later and the ref had to save him by stopping the fight early in that one - Hopkins would have eaten him up and spat him out.
