Nobody beats PBF 147 and down he should retire

None of the fighters you just named are true welters and thus the reason why none of those guys are true competition for Mayweather.

Ask yourself what single physical advantage any of those fighters have over Mayweather and you get the answer of why the welter division as it currently stands is a weak division.

Marquez and Pacquiao are great fighters, but they're not welterweights.


Time for Mayweather to test the mettle of his greatness against a young fighter that naturally stronger than he is.
We know for sure that Mayweather is much more skilled than Canelo, so why not have Mayweather test his skillset against a fighter who at least has a strenghth advantage????

The best welterweight beside Mayweather is a 40year old fighter that could still make the lightweigh limit!

 

Well if he wants to really be a true legend, then he needs to go for that 160 title. I forsee him fighting nobodies until his contract expires ala Roy Jones however.

 

Dude there is nobody south of 160 that can touch mayweather. Pacman was going to be the only nuisance (and he would have lost). I don't even think anyone at 160 can touch him either.

 

Dude there are three fighters north of 147 lbs that want to test themselves against the percieved P4P Mayweather.
Canelo, Martinez, and Ward.

Canelo at 154, Martinez at one point was willing to come down to 154 lbs, and Ward has challenged Mayweather at 160 lbs and Mayweather has ignored everyone of the callouts.

Newsflash! If you're a fighter and happen to have one single advantage in a category of Mayweather, he wont fight you!!!!:deal

Btw, I'd pick Mayweather to decision Canelo, but I want to see his skillset tested against a fighter with a physical chance, not ex-featherweights who belong nowhere in the discussion to beat elite welterweights.

 

Although I agree he would likely beat whats out there at 147lbs and below at the current stage, boxing like any sport is a prove it or STFU type of sport. He needs to clear the division decisively, just like he schooled Guerrero decisively, because the reality is although he beat Cotto clearly, he had some shaky moments. Irrespective of what excuses are there are for that performance, Cotto later one went to be beat by Trout, who got beat by Canelo. My point is that people want to see Floyd beat those have been long considered some of the best at 147lbs and below; Pac, Bradley, etc. Not guys like Guerrero, who had no name at 147lbs until he defeated Berto.
