Nobody cares about the Kovalev fight TOMORROW because HBO does not push his fights!

It is a good fight too. Chilemba is a game opponent who can stylistically cause some problems for Kovalev. It is too bad it has not got more press .

Was gonna say. The dudes a natural. Should be the easiest sell in the sport. Mean ass, outspoken Russian dude who's relaxed in front of the camera with that Ivan Drago accent and dynamite in both fists.

HBO might have done better to give Kovalev the kind of push they gave Golovkin, I'm hoping they pull out the stops to try and build up the Ward fight, cos damn... Ward ain't gonna sell it by himself.

That ain't live Rummy that's your HBO tape delay. The UK Boxnation broadcast is at 5.30 GMT which probably is live, which is what... 11.30am EST I think. Yekaterinburgs another 4 hours ahead of that so you're like 10 hours apart. Nearly half a world away, man.

I don't even think you'd make pennies on the dollar by betting Kovalev, that kind of puts things into perspective.

I don't think HBO is the difference here- the fight budgets HBO allocated for both were pretty much the same on the way up...the biggest difference is that GGG and his team worked harder (and smarter) at marketing him.

That's why the fighter with the inferior resume and similar dynamics working for (and against him)- KO power, fan friendly style, foreign guy establishing himself older than usual because of earlier mismanagement, etc- is the more popular one today.

All in all though, I am disappointed in the way HBO's built up Ward-Kovalev so far.

I hope they triple down their efforts in the coming months, because they've done a mediocre job building buzz for one of (if not the) best fights in boxing thus far.
