    Wow. Bute on Stevenson's undercard.

Does Stevenson have an opponent for that fight yet?

Assuming he wins, does he fight the Hopkins-Kovalev winner after that?

    Or after Pascal?

Give me my Canadian boxing update please.

-No he doesn't, could be Campillo or Savigne but no done deal yet

-Pascal is his mando but won't accept anything less than 50/50 if they fight

-Stevenson's mando deadline is indeed December but Pascal's ego is getting in the way of the fight, likely to take place sometime in 2015 then the winner would pursue the Kovalev-Hopkins winner for a mega unification fight

That's about it, Des. I'm hoping David Lemieux can get a Guerrero type of opponent again in a televised fight so Jacobs or Quillin agree to fight him (re: Quillin officially ducking Lemieux in June, cutting short contract negotiations the first business day after Lemieux destroyed Guerrero).

No arguement from me there, but he is also the fighter that rematched and won in the 4th round

The lightning Lucian Battleship looks set to return! In all honesty though Bute was never really that good.

One loss and Bute hasnt been the same. Before the loss, Bute was looking good beating who was in front of him in -

    IBF SMW champ Berrio,
    future WBA SMW champ Magee,
    future WBC SMW champ Bika,
    Andrade who beat Steiglitz,
and beat other frindge contenders in Zuniga, Miranda, Brinkley who had beaten C Stevens, Mendy, G Johnson

That isnt a bad run with most of that as a champion

I think it was the Andrade controversy that convinced Froch that he could do a number on him. It's funny how one style can be completely wrong for someone. He'd have definitely had more success against the more talented Ward just on how how their styles would gel.

Actually, he was a huge draw in Quebec.

I don't like the way Quillin and co. has been handling things. Not at all.

I was hoping Stevenson-Pascal would be a consolation prize in lieu of a Kovalev fight. Guess not.

    Dang it.

    I agree completely.
I would have favoured Bute to beat Ward at that time (pre Froch) and dont think ward was very interested in unifying with Bute in any hurry.
Froch was able to walk through Butes punches, where as I dont think, even if he could, that Ward would have fought that way and dont think ward would have KOd Bute. I kind of imagined a dull outside fight that Bute would win on points.

Who is the coach of Bute now? Diaz? Roach? Nobody knows?

Bute is a stylist, I will be watching this event for him not for Stevenson.

Bute was the biggest draw in Montréal. EVER! Period

Berrio also beat Stieglitz, IN GERMANY, also by KO like Andrade. Bute have destroyed both Berrio and Andrade. Lucien was a top 10 p4p at some moment in my opinion.
