Well I guess it's either stay at 160 and fight WW'S or move up to 168, where the big boys play!

Let's be honest that some Middleweights like Lemieux and Murray have gotten into the ring with Golovkin.

In a decade no one is going to care whether Golovkin started his reign as the WBA regular champ. And even if he hasn't beaten any elite fighters, defending a title 21 times all by knockout against b level fighters would still be an achievement.

You do realize it doesn't matter what you or I think of the record right? It's the writers, historians, and the HOF that will make it a big deal and it will be what punches his ticket to the HOF.

Whether you think it's legit or not means literally zero from a historic standpoint. I promise if he does break the record, someone like Big Dan or some other boxing writer will do an article and compare it to Hopkin's record and other divisional records. And it won't matter if you agree or read it or not.

Then those guys are hypocrites much like most Golovkin fans who pick and choose when to acknowledge a fighters merits.

How the hell do people with a straight face say a Jacobs isn't a real Champ or down guys like the Guerrero example I used yet try to say GGG is doing something special.
You are remembered for who you beat, in 10-15 years nobody is going to look and say hey Gennandy was this great fighter by beating bums.
That is only impressive to people with an agenda, you can't find one guy on his record who has ever beaten a top fighter that is not legendary and quite frankly its embarrassing that fans try and sell this bs.

What is up with boxing today that guys who fights top champs , elite P4Pers, and big time fights get bash yet hype jobs get praised to no end.
If they both retired today Amir Khan would be closer to HOF than Gennandy, as a former Golovkin fan he has shown no b@lls or willingness to back up all the bs talk him and his team put out. Y'all want to blame it on the other fighter when in reality unless your willing to put the money up yourself like Hearns is doing or accept 100k or some low bs like that your not going to get the fight. Look at the fight with Brook and your collective excuses for why he could fight someone better yet when that same card is pulled on GGG it's there scared or some made up sh!t.
To be Great you have to do something GREAT

So if say Spence wins a international or silver WBC belt or IBO belt and defends it 20 times with his best win being a Alvarado/Ortiz level that would make him a legend. Because essentially that is what your saying.

I want to see BJS, Jacobs and yes, CEJ fights. All 3 are quality boxers and would be entertaining to watch.
By the time these 3 are beat, the 154 giants will finally outgrow their hiding place and move up.

I don't even care if he moves to 168. I just don't want him to fight welters anymore. Let's hope Brook is the only one from 147 that is pushing for a fight with 160 p4p champ.

There is no honour in fighting the likes of Bradley. He is a big name and a p4p great but he is too small.

There a difference between the silver belt and Ibo belt and WBA regular championship. Ibo and silver belt are not recognized as "world titles" from a major sanctioning body. We can argue about that all day, but the fact is that 10 years from now people are going to remember that he broke the middleweight defense record. Also in no way shape or form is Golovkin a legend. He has to fight A level fighters for that to happen. But he's still a very good fighter who depending on who he beats in the future may be great.

Also Golovkin has very obviously beat better guys than Alvarado/Ortiz.

Stop watching boxing then is all I can tell you. Becuase you know what I said is the truth. The writers, historians, and the HOF will all recognize the record and someone will do an article on it.

Ibdont know what GGG and his team are thinking. I'm only guessing that it's the record keeping them at 160.

And there are fighters at the top of 160 who are ducking him...
Canelo...agreed to fight after a voluntary defense against Khan, then dumps the belt to go back to 154 to "acclimate" to 160

Jacobs...be a year and a half..but suddenly wants the fight when a deal is almost made with CEJ

    BJS...admitted he wasn't ready.

I agree, GGG has to start offering a better split to try and get some of these fights.

But in the end, like it or not, the record punches his card to the HOF.

Reading through some the novels you people type out, over and over with the only intent to defame some guy in a sport most of you have never participated in makes me convinced you guys are mentally ill.

I can agree with that actually.

After Brook, If he can't get a top 5 Middlweight or Canelo in the ring, he should go up, or fight Lara.

I think you guys need to be realistic about a Lara fight. It's not going to happen anytime soon. Lara can tweet everyday and send contracts twice a day and it's not going to happen.

GGG is an HBO fighter. Lara has a few fights left on his Showtime deal. Do you honestly, realistically think either network is gonna let their guy go fight on a rival network? Lara vs GGG is not near a big enough fight that they would consider a dual network fight like they did for Lewis/Tyson or Paq/Floyd.

Cmon guys. Please at least be realistic about proposed fights and consider the networks involved to make these fights.

If you researched that you'd realise it wasn't always 160 and catch weight fights have always been part of the sport.

The winner of Smith v Canelo has no claim. The winner of Golovkin v Brook has no claim. It is exceptionally clear cut.

If Canelo fights at MW, the winner of that fight will have a claim.

Your point is again invalidated unless you consider Ward the lineal LHW champ as historically there was no SMW division and even more so, upon its mainstream inception the LHW title was on the line.

Just do some research beyond those you're a fan of.

This is why you are pathetic , because you want GGG to move up but you don't say he is the MAN in the MW division , so why should he move up ? he has much to prove to you as you believe Canelo is the man in MW , either everyone agrees GGG is the man in MW and then he should move up or its up for dispute (as it seems you guys believe Canelo is the man) and in such a case there is no reason to move up.
