Nobody Cares if Golovkin Claims All 4 Titles

The belts represent who the best is in the division. Hopefully having them will force the other 160's to face him. Where else are they goig to go?

 

The belts mean nothing if you didnt win to onone to get them. You can give me all those belts and still i'd be noone.

 

atsch Fvckin tennybopper fans.... One has to be a complete moron to think unifying all the titles in a division is a bad thing. Not to mention the idea that you have to move up in weight to challenge yourself? How old are you? 20? :tired

Beat all the champions and clear out the division. Basically the same thing he has done at middleweight but do it in a second division against bigger opponents.

This would greatly add to his achievements and would go a long way towards proving his greatness. It would help prove that not only does he have great ability but also that courage that many other great fighters have shown.

 

I'll bet that one of the first people to congratulate Gennady Golovkin WHEN he breaks the record will be Bernard The Alien Executioner Hopkins.

When Gennady does decide to move up to 168 can any of you name me one fighter up there that could cause him serious problems ?? Personally I don't see anyone

 

Bigger opponents? 3G would be a SuperMW himself, so whey wouldn't necessarily be bigger then he.

 

I'm not saying they will be bigger than him. I'm saying they will be bigger than the guys he fought at 160.

 

:huh I mean....yeah, of course. Bigger doesn't mean better, for what it's worth. And in the end, it's still two guys who weigh roughly the same. I know what you mean though.

 

Golovkin just wants to stay busy until he can get that other title, plus get the fight against Alvarez. Golovkin would have fought Alvarez, but Alvarez ran, Jacobs refused to fight him, Saunders refused, Quillin refused, Martinez refused, Cotto refused, ad infinitum.............

 

I just don't see the point in him moving up unless it is for a big name.
He can stay at 160 and have the following fights over the next two or three years ...

1) His big money fight is Canelo obviously.
2) BJS or Eubank in UK
3) In 2 years Andrade could be ready for a great fight (Andrade is most talented 154 in world btw).
4) rematch with any of above if beaten or close fight
5) Lara
6) Quillen
7) Lee

If he can win 4 of the above named fights (which are all legit fights at 160) then and only then should he move up and it should only be for an end of career mega pay day if ward beats kovalev and cements himself as the great american hope. Otherwise, what's the point of moving up. Ggg is suited for 160 and the money at 168 will be no better than at 160. It seems like an obvious choice.

 

One of the main reasons is because he doesn't seem able or willing to get fights with those guys^ otherwise he would have already done so.

Plus fighting the bigger guys at 168 is seen as more of a challenge and therefore more likely to provide more competitive fights.

 

Golovkin is proven fight by fight that he is best 160 pounder in a long time. I haven´t seen such a domination before (Lot of guys are refusing to take career high payday against Golovkin - Jacobs, Eubanks, Saunders, Sturm etc.). He deserves those four belts and it´s also good for pro boxing to have a champion who appreciates unifying. To say, he is nothing because he is not fighting 10-15 pounds bigger guys regularly is just stupid. Ward and Kovalev had their biggest fights against the smaller opponents and in the same time Golovkin KO guys bigger than him. Imagine what sh... storm would brake loose if Golovkin would go 12rds with Rodriguez, Allan Green, Glen Johnson, Bika, Abraham, (or even Rubio..)?
