By the 1st bell even Emanual Steward seen the difference.. Many people thought that De La Hoya would be ten pounds heavier and not drained.. If you saw the way he looked,he looked flush.. Roach also noticing this, people thought that the Oscar that fought Mayweather,Forbes,Mayorga not the shell of a man Oscar we saw in the ring that night.

what gives this fight significance to me is that roach trained ODH for his fight with FMJ and this fight came all the way to a decision and imediately he knew ODH would loose to pac. its a bold statement becuase he knew with out doubt that pac would beat odh even though ODH fought the then current P4p to a decision.

LET ME MAKE THIS CLEAR. It's not irrelevant. IT MEANS HE HAD BALLS THE SIZE OF AN ELEPHANT to take the CHALLENGE ON!!!!!! It shows bravery, it shows a willingness to take a risk, a shows a belief in oneself that you can take on challenges you might not be successful at, it shows that sometimes 'David' can beat goliath. ALL THE THINGS WHICH MAKE BOXING AN HONOURABLE SPORT.

Otherwise everyone is like Mayweather. No risks, money minded, no honour. Mayweather DOESN'T take risks. He takes on challenges he knows he can win and ones that make the most money.

It matters and A LOT, people tend to discredit Pacquiao's win, the same people who picked Oscar to blow him out in a "circus" fight.

This fight was looked down on by the entire boxing community, officials and fans together. People talked about it like it's a circus act and a joke of a fight, Oscar got endless insults for making it too as many considered he'll ruin Pacquiao for a few million dollars and hurt boxing.

In this case it means A LOT and in most cases really, when someone goes in as the underdog like Pacquiao and wins the way he did people will mention it and will mention it forever. It's like people mentioning Ali/Foreman till this day and how people were literally begging Foreman to not murder Ali in there because they liked him.

Just look at the size difference between the two, people will mention and I'm one of the people that mention it because I remember the laughter from others whenever anyone picked Pacquiao.

Stupid thread. Walk With Me's obssession for Williams is affecting him big time. Always on the defensive. It means Pacquiao has balls to take on ODLH. I don't give a **** how bad ODLH looked, the fight was a huge risk. Was he drained? Did he suck? You can argue all you want about that, but people mostly bring this up when others say it was a cherry picking move by Pac, HELL NO. I didn't see it as a cherry picking move for Floyd who is bigger than Pac, and it's not a cherry picking move for Pac. You also kind of said Hatton was cherry picking for Pac. Oh my...

The reason why Manny beat Oscar was not because Oscar was weight drained (although I'm sure this contributed) BUT because Manny was to FAST.

What DLH corner said before throwing in the towel FACT:
'there's no point going on with this...HE'S TOO FAST!'

Your giving pac more credit then he deserves, you're saying pac signed because an old man with Parkinson told him he can?

If only Pwilli's coach thought the same about someone like Dawson or Calzaghe.:hey

Yes its important because people rationalize things.
Just as now they are saying Hatton was shot from Floyd. I even predicted they would in a thread here and now they are.
If Manny meets and beats Floyd, Floyd will be old of course.

So it is important to remember how some people rationalize everything to fit there hatred for a fighter.

It is relevant because it's a simple statement of fact. And it only gets funnier because the same people downplaying what got said are often the same people who picked against him again with Hatton.

Do you agree now with everything that Roach will say or it is just convenient to agree with him here because he was proven right? When Roach said that he will be disappointed if the fight with Ricky will go past 3 rounds, did you agree with him or did you call him ******ed?

Roach said that if Manny and JMM will fight again, JMM will not get past 3 rounds. Manny is that good now. Do you agree with him?

In hindsight, we are all geniuses.

Nacho says there were no weight issues during camp. He said De La Hoya made the weight with no problems."This was a fight that should have been won. Oscar was able achieved a great physical condition during his training. I am a witness that he did not have problems with his weight and he was not dried out from the vapors [of a sauna]. During that time he had a nutritionist by his side who took charge of his weight and diet. But at the time of the fight he couldn't do things well. He couldn't deal with the versatility of Pacquiao," Nacho said.

    end the thread :good:good:good
