Nobody hits like Shavers;not even Vitali Klitschko

    Briggs said that Klitschko hit harder than Lewis and 48 years old Foreman but he never been hit from Earnie Shavers.Some quotes from fighters about Earnie Shavers,the hardest hitter ever:
    Tex Cobb:Nobody hits like Shavers. If anybody hit harder than Shavers, I'd shoot him.'
    Ken Norton:Anything Earnie Shavers hits you with,you will feel.His punch was like photographers flashlights going off in my head.Whe he knocked me down,I was out cold.

    Shavers was all natural, too.

    Vitali tested positive for steroids.

    Just think if Steroids were as acceptable in the US as they are in Russia and they put Shavers in a steroid tank like they did the Klit girls.
    You talking about a MF'er coming otta the clone tank with 100 lb. cinder blocks for fists!

    How many opponents did Shavers put in the intensive care unit with a concussion, broken nose and two broken cheeck bones? I don't know the answer myself. References anyone?

    Shavers was one-punch knockout hitter.And imagine that he lands number of punches that Klitschko land on Briggs.Briggs was without defence.This kind of beating is more dangerous than early knockout.What about Sonny Liston vs Chuck Wepner.That was similar beating only much worse:broken nose,chiefbones and 72 stiches.

    For ****s sake, NO ONE here said Vitali hit harder than Shavers. What the **** is the point of this thread? Shavers is universally acknowledged as hardest puncher ever in the HW division

    How many opponents stood in front of Shavers with there hands down, and took punch after punch for 12rds?

    Shavers would have gotten Briggs out of there.

    Shavers has to be the most overrated hwt myth of all boxing history. Why did he have about ten losses? why was his career legacy comparable to someone like David Tua or Shannon Briggs? Good quality contender, nothing special.

    Holmes looked more hurt vs. Snipes than Shavers.

    I don't get the idiots grilling the OP. It's well-established that Shavers was the hardest puncher ever. Not the best boxer ever, but, damn, that guy could bang hard.

    On a side note, I always liked a funny quote from Briggs about Foreman and Lewis, when asked who hit harder...he said:

    "No offense to Mr. Lewis, but when Foreman hit me, I saw Jesus." :lol:
