You mention Abraham and Kessler.

Compare them to the best Bute has fought , Mendy ?

I also dont go for this Bute bull**** talking about Kessler ducking him , Kessler fought Calzaghe in Cardiff and Ward in Oakland , but with the right terms.

I heard the contract was so onesided it made Don King laugh.

 

Personally, I didn't enjoy his fights with Magee or Brinkley. Bute is far too tentative for my liking.

 

I'm a fan of Lucian Bute and Andre Dirrell, but I'm not really a fan of Andre Ward.

 

How anyone can be a fan of dirrell is a worry.

 

There are plenty of Bute fans and plenty of Ward fans, not everyone is gonna like both, you don't have to down-play Ward in order to make a fighter you like look good...

They are both skilled undefeated fighters and the both of them get critisized by many, Wards has fought the better comp thus far and Bute has the more immpressive ko's, but you can't base knockouts on who is best, B-Hop rarely gets a ko but continues to win decisively as does Mayweather.

 

I dont know why, but with Bute, I have always got the impression he's doing his reputation wonders by fighting theses good, but second tier level fighters. Dont get me wrong, Andrade & Miranda are respectable, good to decent fighters, but I've always felt, once he steps up, with a fighter near his own level, he will lose, that he's been made to look better than he is, because of whom he's been fighting.

I think Bute's bubble will burst when steps up his comp.

 

I agree ,

He carries his hands way too low , and can get away with it against the guy in the blue corner of the Contender , but against the real top quality , Kessler , Froch , Ward he would be eating right hands all night .

Lets also remember Andrade had him on ***** street and he isnt a puncher.

 

There is nothing to suggest that Abraham was any better at 168 than Andrade.

 

i think your opinion is heavily influenced by the fighter's style....
one is a puncher, the other one is a control boxer
both are able to dominate their opponents in their own respective way

Ward has faced much higher caliber opponents due to the Super 6
Its much easier to look spectacular vs a laundry list of B caliber opponents

Both fighters impress me in their own ways.....

 

I'd worry more about stamina personally, cause he seemed to get REALLY tired in that fight, which was more significant imo.

 

I dont dislike Bute, but its obvious he has a padded record and a tko loss to Andrade. He is an offensive force, but the feeding of has beens or never weres has to stop. Kessler is a big star himself proven warrior he doesnt have to agree with all of Butes demands. Ward maybe hasnt impressed as much as Bute becauase Ward is fighting the best in the world, not punching bags like Bute.

 

Bute is a good fighter just want to see him step it up.

 

saw it live..here's the thing...
bute was punishing and outboxing andrade for 11 rounds, figured he'd go for the KO so unloaded on his head, went all balls out, and learned the big lesson that he did that night. i cannot believe he tried to do that, after having watched kessler andrade though. andrade's chin was easily the best i had seen up to that point, even now i'd put him over margarito after seeing what mosely did. annnyway...

bute has to step up his challengers, and now will i believe. hope. if not it's pretty bad.

iam not even a ward fan like that...but his boxing is amazing..not exciting ..but technically amazing
