Nobody is ever impressed by Bute. I am not impressed by Ward either.

You fan boys need to take Bute's dick outta you ass.. Ward makes every opponent a walking stiff that quits trying because they figure out they are hopelessly over matched.. Miranda, Kessler, Green, Bika, Abraham.. All have tasted Wards Power, none of them walked through it, or said he is feather fisted.. Ward could probably knock out opponents but that's not his game, he is a much more complete fighter than a slugger home run hitter.. Ward hits switch (both Southpaw and conventional) has Great Defensive skills, Great Footwork, Nasty inside game, and Decent Power. He can beat you many different ways

Now look at Bute the IBF Champ, has a nasty uppercut and terrible body shot. Decent foot speed,Good hand speed, Some Nasty Combination punching, Good Defense However still gets hit with the right hand more than I would like to see. Thats pretty much sums up Bute..

That is pure BS. If you have the power to KO somebody and with Wards abilities, the KO will come. Ward does not lack power like P. Malignaggi style, but dosnt have enough to crack decent chins

Timing, good reflexes and accuracy are Bute's best assets. You forgot them. ;)

    Are you completely deluded.
If Ward beats Froch, I would put Wards resume above Butes but as it stands, who has Ward beaten other than an unwell double vision suffering Kessler? Nobody

Wards last 4 fights, in order of last

Abraham coming off of 2 S6 losses and not as accomplished a SMW as Magee

    Bika who Bute beat clearer

Green who is not as good a SMW as Andrade in Butes 2nd fight with him

Just here Bute is 3-0 up against Ward

Kessler - Is a better win than anything on Butes record, but is a win over an unwell double vision suffering Kessler better overall than Andrade 1 who was #3 SMW, Berrio IBF champ, Zuniga, Brinkley, Joppy, Mendy

Consider also Bute beat Miranda clearer than Ward.

This is why I have always preffered Boxing Monthlys more honest (in my opinion) ratings

1: Lucian Bute* (Canada), 28-0, IBF

    2: Andre Ward, 24-0, WBA

    3: Mikkel Kessler (Denmark), 44-2

4: Carl Froch (GB), 28-1, WBC

Ward and Bute are both impressive. Bute's got quicker hands, more power and better combo punching so he's more exciting to watch but Ward is a very good technician and is sneaky with the dirty tactics like Hopkins. Against similar opponents Bute has looked much better though. I slightly favour Bute if they fight, Bute's criminally underated on here, no one in boxing has been destroying everyone they put in front of them like Bute has although since none of the top guys have been willing to fight him that might be a bad thing going into a fight with Ward. Wards experience in the 2 fights where he fought decent competition (Kessler and assuming he beats Froch) might give him and edge over Bute but I can't see feather fisted Ward being able to cope with the speed and power of Bute, he's never fought anyone remotely near his level either.

    I agree with the ranking.

It makes the most sense to put Ward>Kessler>Froch.... where Bute goes is harder to say because he hasnt really met any of these other guys yet.

This post is a bit old, but explains how Ward shouldnt have gone to #1.
The Ring magazine seems very strange to me sometimes in its ratings.

They had Bute as the #1 SMW and Ward at #2 etc. Now for Ward to have gone to #2, he beat #1 Kessler and rightfully went above Kessler but Kessler is Wards only big win and overall Bute has a better resume than Ward even though not better than Froch or Kessler, so Bute became #1. Now Kessler beat Froch and was #3.
Froch beat Abraham coming off a loss and the Ring put Froch above Kessler after Froch had just lost to Kessler. Then Ward beat Bika a fighter Bute had beaten years previously and the Ring put Ward above Bute and made him #1.

Now this is where it seems strange to me.
The Ring is an American based magazine which understandably focuses on American fighters. Now America at this time have NO Ring champions.
Well chances are that the Super 6 final will be between Froch and Ward. Well the Ring sometimes lets the #1 against the #3 be for the Ring title.
It looks like the Ring has a plan in that if Ward was #2 and beat Froch at #3 he couldnt be a Ring champion and if Froch won he couldnt be either, but if they make Ward the #1 for no real reason other than for a win over Bika who Bute had already beaten they could make the winner the Ring champ and fight for their title.
The Ring had no reason to put Ward above Bute or Froch above Kessler. Ratings are supposed to be based on results.

I don't know how people aren't impressed with Bute. I could give you a pass for Ward and just be like well most ppl don't know **** about boxing. But Bute is like half-killing these dudes.

Its not Bute people arent impressed with, but lack of high quality comp. Sure he destroyed former Ward opponents, but Ward is a technical fighter and Bute a boxer puncher they going to fight different. Simple fact Ward beat Kessler if Kessler was sicl why did he fight? What if Ward was sick too? That just sounds ridiculous. Until Bute beats a Kessler, Ward or Froch he doesnt belong with that group. Why not Golovkin?
