Everybody just assumes that Usyk is going to sit there and let a pressure fighter come to him. He might for a round, but he always makes in-fight adjustments to counter whatever anyone is doing to him. He's not going to let someone keep walking forward in a straight line. They are going to have to circle just like he would. What makes Usyk so great is his ring IQ. As good as Parker, Dubois, and Kabayel are, he wouldn't let any of them fight their style of fight unless he was sure he could beat them at their own game. Frazier, Marciano, and Tyson would all get a 12 round 118-110 slapped on them (assuming Tyson could last 12 rounds)

Tyson is the GOAT at being overrated at this point. He couldn't beat any of the top fighters in his era (0-3) but he can beat Usyk? Give me a break.

He hasn't fought Parker and especially Kabayel. Usyk acts like Kabayel doesn't even exist. I don't rate Usyks level of competition as superior to Tysons, definitely a greater career and greater legacy tho. Usyk ain't shutting out Tyson on the cards, no way. He mauls him on the ropes eventually like Briedis was doing in spots. Usyk doesn't fight like a big man either, Holyfield manhandled Tyson everytime he came forward. Usyk would be fleeing and cutting angles

If he's retiring in the next two or so fights, then he should be able to go undefeated and get out of boxing relatively unscathed with nothing left to prove.

Kabayel is a really top boxer, but I think he's somewhat predictable and would need to try to show some surprises against Usyk to beat him at this stage.

You know when someone says Tyson beats Usyk... when hes never beaten someone of Usyks level, what can you do. Its obvious that Tyson has a punchers chance and he definitely would give Usyk some brutal moments (Usyk UD, btw) but at least it's understandable why someone would choose Tyson here.

When someone picks Frazier over Usyk (Usyk UD btw), its a bit less sensible to me... Frazier is great at what he does but he lacks the raw explosiveness, speed and imo the chin of Tyson. I also think Tyson hits harder. But of course Frazier beat Ali so that gives him a bagillion mythical points in these things, so at that point what is there to argue after the two people have given their views. I dont see it but at least theres theres that basis for Frazier maybe beating Usyk in that he was able to impose his style on Ali.

But when someone says with a straight face that this guy mauls Usyk...

Its just kinda crazy to me someone can watch all 195lbs of this guy fight with their own eyes, and then turn around and say with a straight face that he would be too much for Usyk to handle.

Marciano has to be the most overrated fighter of all time. My meaningless opinion of course.

I re-watched Tyson vs Holyfield 1 for the first time in many years. I had Holyfield winning every single round apart from one. In a dominant , one sided beatdown, Tyson was only 30 years old and he looked terrible. You overrate him massively.

What do people here think about Joe Louis vs Uysk?

Not a matchup I see discussed often.

Usyk wins, his style is just bad for Louis who always struggled with movers and people who can keep him at range and not give him a chance to unload his combinations. Usyk would constantly keep him resetting and not give him a chance to do anything as has shown a pretty good chin so even if Louis lands a right hand here and there it would take more then one to take out Usyk

Disagree. Tyson wouldn't be a top 5 fighter right now.

    That's just being silly now
If you want to say usyk beats him, that's fair enough, but all others?

So you think an old past prime usyk at 38 with 4 others is better than a rooney trained Mike at 22? Lol

I wouldn't count Usyk out vs anyone but this is just silly.

Usyk has always struggled with pressure fighters. Usyk was essentially a pro when he fought Beterbiev in 2012 and struggled mightily despite a major size advantage and even a speed advantage. He managed to scrape by a win but it was hard.

Chisora is much slower than Tyson and nowhere near the puncher and even he managed to give Usyk a good fight.

Usyk does not have the speed advantage over Tyson. He is slower than 22 year old Tyson, both in terms of hand speed and foot speed. He can't simply keep a faster man off him unless he is willing to throw 5-6 punch combinations with power and mix in huge uppercuts in there.

This simply isn't his style. Usyk likes to use 2-3 punch combinations early until his opponent tires and only then does he start opening up with combinations. He also rarely throws big uppercuts early in fights especially vs incoming fighters. Not his style. He deems is too risky.

Against Tyson, Usyk will be fighting a man whom he simply can't keep off him. Tyson had a devestating cross which is a wonderful weapon vs southpaws. If Usyk tries moving away, he runs into big left hooks. If he moves back, he either gets hit with a right cross or a right hook-right uppercut body combination.

Usyk has never faced an opponent who can throw 5-6 punch combinations with that kind of speed and power. The idea that Tyson couldn't beat top 5 guys today is comical. Usyk is the only top 10 guy today that i would even give a remote chance vs Mike.

Yes. I do. Tyson was a lunge and swinger. He would get bullied by the big bodies in the division now. It would look a lot like Tokyo Douglas.

so was Tysons prime 22 and not 23 when Buster Douglas knocked him out:risas3: Hilarious how you didn't write 23.

I've never known fanboys be be so petty, precise and small when talking about Tysons prime.

Usyk is just ****ing better than Tyson, period. Way more consistent, way better overall, way more longetivity.

I know it burns you to admit it, you seem obsessed with the Usyk and Tyson comparisons. But deep down you know that white guy from Ukraine is much greater than your hero. And the Usyk that we've usually seen in fights 9 times out 10 beats the Tyson we've seen in fights.

Nah mate, let’s be reasonable here. Tyson is overrated massively but at his best he walks through most of the guys today.

Usyk is the only guy I wouldn’t be confident of Mike beating but he’s a very live chance.

Tyson at his best is a top 10 HW all time H2H. Fury, AJ, etc just aren’t at that level. You could argue Usyk is though.
