he fought very good opposition...toney, X...

and too all the persons who think he is on roid or was better say.
should simply watch a roy docu, I have seen footage of him, ow he looked as a 9 year old boy etc and I can tell you this, he was as athletic and ripped a 9 year old boy can be. what I mean by that, is that he simply always had this natural ability. if it was so easy too take steriods and be #1 than everybody who took steriods would as fast on feet as bolt and handwise as fast as jones!

this athletism have been never seen and wont probably not be surpassed in the next 20 years, although many were near as athletic as him, like srl or mp, nobody was like him when roy was at his peak (pazienza bout)

His best two wins are an horrifically weight-drained Toney and a green Hopkins. I was a huge RJJ fan when he was in his prime, but looking back a lot of his career was a sham. Looking a million dollars beating up police officers while ducking the big punchers and winning a paper heavyweight belt against one of the all-time worst champions don't look so impressive today. Still an immense talent who achieved a lot, but not as much as it appeared at the time.

I don't give a **** what happened (and might still happen) late in Jones career, RJJ was Superman!! Still got my respect! He was a ****ing beast at 168 with mad moves!

Anything that happened post Tarver loss doesn't mean much because everyone knows he was WAY past his best and no longer the force he once was.

    60 40 he'll kick most peoples asses.

    Horrifically weight drained Toney???

The guys 5'9 and he had trouble making 168???

If thats the case its more to do with Toneys indiscipline than being "drained"

Many of the best super middles are 6 foot plus! Froch is 4 inches taller than Toney and he doesnt have trouble making the weight.

There is guys Toneys height making lightweight!

Khan is at least Toneys height maybe taller, and he fights at 140!

Toney wasnt drained! He just let himself get fat in between bouts, he should probably still be able to make 168 if he really wanted to!

As for Hopkins being "Green", it was his 24th pro fight and he was 4 years older than Jones!

In his prime no one knocked him out anyway,so what difference would it have made?

He was a pro for 15 years before anyone KO'd him

Jones is a legend, but he tarnished his legacy over the last few years.
He relied too much on speed and reflexes for defence and as soon as they faded he became a punching bag

Just the same as Tommy Hearns, RJJ never learnt to protect himself in the ring, like the original hitman for most of his career he didnt need much defence cos he was knocking everyone out. But they both took way too much punishment late in their career cos of weak defensive skills.

Jones beat some of the toughest bus drivers around when he was in his prime.
