To clarify.....and these are JMM's words.....in the days after the first JMM-Pac fight, Marquez explained why he had gone down three times vs Pac...
.....and he said that he found it so easy to hit Pac in the beggining moments of the fight, that he got careless with judging distance......
The words of Marquez were that he did'nt expect Pac to be able close the distance between them when Pac threw his left hand from so far out.....

Pac's ability to close distance so fast was what JMM miscalculated.......as you can see, after the 1st round, Marquez was never in any danger of going down.....

.....and even in the rematch, already having fought, Marquez did'nt have any problem at all with Pac's leaps when he threw that left hand.
......the knockdown in that fight came in the middle of an exchange with both fighters throwing left hands at the same time, and Pac's getting there first.......and it was'nt the straight left that nailed Marquez, but a left cross from closer range.

Alot has been made by the *******s about the four knockdown......4 knockdowns in 2 fights seem huge, but the facts are that Marquez was only dropped in 2 of the 24 rounds, and was only hurt by those knockdowns once, and that was in the 3rd round of their rematch.
