Yes, you are right nobody with a leaky defense is going to defeat Mayweather....

It's going to take a guy with a decent defense. He has to have an iron chin. Strong mental willpower. Crazy ass stamina. Blazing speed. Good footwork. A southpaw. And an overwhelming OFFENSE with a great counter right hook.

And there happens to be a guy that fits the bill... Maybe that's why Floyd is playing mind games and is unwilling to in the ring with him??? :think:think:nut:nut:rofl:rofl

I don't remember Morales or Marquez using much movement around the ring to beat emmanuel, someone remind me if I remembered wrong. Why all the worry with Floyd's legs? He can still make fighters miss without traveling from ringpost to ringpost. Besides, Floyd actually clinches. emmanuel's recent opponents didn't know how to tie him up.

Chavez was eating uppercuts, emmanuel likes to eat them too. emmanuel stands too square with the hands too high leaving himself open for that punch. He's so ingrained in his habits after all these years, so he can't even change that about his stance. He has reached his technical peak. Last Saturday's fight was good, he showed us all what he's capable of.

lets just wait and see the fight when it happens. Its obvious that people have different opinions. The day after the fight should prove to be interesting. I cant wait to hear the excuses and literally the depression commerncing within the filipino nation.

He beat the **** outta Chavez... AFTER he changed tactics because he found himself embroiled in a tough fight. That WAS that fight.

I don't remember Castillo becoming Roberto Duran to beat Floyd, and I don't remember an old Oscar becoming Thomas Hearns to take him to an SD. Floyd has already been shown to be beatable by two different but both inferior fighters to Pacquiao.

ESB has impressed me today with this thread...an actual debate, some very interesting points being thrown out for both sides. What happened, did they ban all the ALT's? :think

Pacquiao is always dangerous, but I believe he will be very dangerous early...Mayweather ad******g :)huh) to the speed, etc (and there's always the chance of Pacquiao struggling with Mayweather's speed...). After seeing the Margarito bout, there is a definite chance of Pacquiao catching and hurting Mayweather...which is probably why Mayweather will be cautious early.

The punch that I see winning the fight for Mayweather is the lead right though. If he can get the distance and timing early, land the lead right as Pacquiao comes in...then as Pacquiao tries to instantly land on Mayweather (he has always tried to land a return shot on his opponent)...if he can then land another 2-3 counter shots, he can frustrate Pacquiao, make him make mistakes. Along with the fact that Mayweather is going to try to shut down Pacquiao's whole offense with clinches, etc.

I give the edge to Mayweather, but there's no guarantee that Mayweather can cope with Pacquiao's output if he can't slow him down.

Oh and that's the another thing I see working well for Floyd - catching Pacquiao coming in and out. But for him to effectively do this, he may need to open up more and force himself to actually throw combos. Pot-shotting alone will not be enough to deter Pacquiao.
