Agree, only I felt DLH maneuvered him into those positions with his patient stalking, also, cause Floyd goes straight back in a line when use the jab against him, and I think that is why DLH was able to put him on heels so much, only I dont think Manny has that kinda patience, that he is not as effective when he lets the pace drop.

The constant theme about what what both Castillo and Oscar did IMO, was both waited on Mayweather, they did'nt give him many leads to work his offense off, then they manouvred him into areas where they could press him, near the ropes, where by they could strategically pick the best times to attack imo.

5.50, Oscar stalking him near the ropes, waiting on him, then throws a crisp jab that sends him back on the line, smartly goes to the body then brings his shots uptop.

6.04, Oscar stalking him, maneuvering him around, jabbing to the chest to force him onto his heels.

    I'll tack this question on:

Gooners, do you think the Floyd of the Marquez and Mosley fights has feet as fast as the Floyd of a few years ago?

Sorry. It is. You mean the "dynamic offense" that REQUIRES a guy to exchange? The same "dynamic offense" that kept doing the same ineffective things against Clottey while getting Pac busted up? Pac looks dynamic against guys that are chasing him and have crap defense. He makes sure to ONLY pick those guys to fight. No more. No less.

From a distance? Name ONE fighter Pac has fought recently known to control distance? You can't! Name one fighter known for his jab? You can't! Shot Cotto nor weight drained Hoya were known for speed or flinch speed. Pac hops around. A boxing no-no! That ish will not fly in the ring with Mayweather.

Pac always comes in on a straight line! He only pops out when the slow, plodding, brawler he is facing chases him. Mayweather will NEVER chase him. He will never get off that 8 punch combo. Mayweather will be gone or clinch. Mayweather will also not wail away on him.

Pac isn't the fighter you guys think he is. He is an excellent matchmaker. He has steered clear of Pure Boxers since JMM.

Unless Pac can force PBF into the type of fight he wants, its going to be a long night for Pac and us boxing fans. I am a money fan, but he will NOT allow Pac to get any clean shot on him, even if that means he only throws 1-2 punches and moves. No one has been able to dictate their fight with money. He ALWAYS dictates the fight. Boxing is sport in which you get hit, and money is going to get hit several times by Pac, but Pac is going to have to scarfice his face to get to Money's. When you fight someone just as fast or faster than you, you become scared to throw a punch, look at Mosley. Then the same can be said when Zab had Money scared to punch until he was able to figure out his pattern....Its all about who can adjust better and who can dictate the flow of the fight...

Floyd's defense is over-rated...Pac is gonna expose it. So Floyd won't fight him because not only will he lose his "0", losing his claim to greatness  His fans will also no longer be able to say he has "the best defense in boxing".

Probably not, although I dont think I'd assert its deteriorated so much to the point where he cant mix up his game plan, as in I think he might still have enough left to be able his legs some of the time, but hold his feet, get on the stick, counter at other times.

Hopkins was 36 when he fought Tito, he spent most of the night using the ring.

People constantly bring up tjhe marquez / shane / hoya fights, as if they are even irrelevant. Watch Floyd fight a southpaw. It's a different type of fight and Floyd is not on his best game against a southpaw. He's way more hittable and flat footed. Watch the Judah fight. I can't see that version of Floyd beating Manny Pacquiao, and that's a younger, faster, better Floyd.

Yeah I agree. Mayweather looks very comfortable with his back to the ropes...whether he is being maneuvered there by his opponent or if he willingly does it, I don't believe he should do it against Pacquiao.

Gooners i like a lot of what you have said on this thread but must take exception to aspects of your analysis here!
The so called walking back in straight lines from Floyd against DLH was not enforced by the much hyped pressure DLH put on him with the jab. This has been much overplayed. It was clear to me early doors what Floyd's strategy was against DLH. It is what i like to call his stage 2 strategy set. It is the same one he has employed most times since climbing up to the higher weight categories, and especially against bigger men! It is Floyds version of the rope a dope really. He beckons these big guys on to him on the ropes and entices them to brek that crab like behind the shoulder defense, which lets not forget, was not always a part of his tool kit. Floyd has worked out that with that defense and his ability to slip the bigger guys simply waste a lot of energy hittng the air and then hittng elbows and shoulders etc, all the time allowing him to pot shot and wear them down! Now for those who have done any bit of boxing it is apparent that missing punches for some reason has a real dilabitating effect on your stamina.... well times this by 3 if you come into the weight tight and by fight night you are really somewhere around 160!
Floyd in my opinion beckoned DLH on, knew he would gas, took him out to sea to drown him!
Fact is if Floyd really wanted to dance, stick and move again, he could do it at the drop of a hat; he did it in the 7th or 8th against Hatton before taking him out!
    Just some thoughts!

Why does everyone say Mayweather's legs are gone? Mayweather was never this "runner" everyone made him out to be. He moves off a few feet and waits. He is now a "tension" fighter. He moves almost into punching range and then waits for tension to build.

Lately, heis becoming more "aggressive" moving closer earlier. Getting fighters to show their hands earlier.

Mayweather's legs may not be a factor at all. I would say his chin means more than his legs. He gets a bit relaxed and I think Pac could catch him. Once caught? He may be able to be stopped.

:huh What???? How did you come to that conclusions??? From watching walk down Judah, and busted him up with clean shots, forcing him to hit low in order to suvive? From watching him stop mitchell? From watching him, drop Corley 3 times in route to a wide UD?

I'm not saying that these guys are Pacquiao but that "struggles with soutpaws" is one of the biggest and dumbest myths on ESB. Its baseless.

Having the best defense in boxing doesn't mean you are unbeatable, or unhittable.
