Makabu is a tricky southpaw with some power but he looked shot against Jack, unless he can land something big early Gevor will dominate this and possibly stop him down the stretch.

Makabu down bad from a few jabs. Looks like he's shot, second fight in a row where he's gone down hard in the early stages.

Mikaelyan jumps on him after 10 count but could not finish him

That was a sharp combination to finish it, when Gevor puts his shots together he can look pretty impressive. I'd definitely like to see him against any of the champs at cruiser weight

Mikaelyan wins by 3rd round TKO. Commentary is saying it's a bit premature, but it was only ending one way and I'd rather not see another thing like what happened with Bryan earlier.

Maybe it should have been called a knockdown instead of a stoppage, but Makabu was going to get hurt badly if the fight continued so it was an OK stoppage.

I don't even get how this was for a title given Jack won the wbc title this year and I didn't hear anything about him being stripped but I'm still happy for Noel given he was really unlucky not to get the decision against Briedis

He moved up a couple months back with the intentions of fighting for the "Bridgerweight" title. Haven't really heard anything about that since, so I'm not sure if it's still going on or is just stalled for one reason or other. Last I heard anything even remotely similar to it was that an "interim" fight at that weight is supposedly going to be held between Kevin Lerena and Senad Gashi at the end of the month.
