Yes he was decent. Gave Glen Mcrory a good fight in the pros. What happened with him?

I think he committed suicide, he was only young.

    I think mcvey's criticism fair.
Quarless lost twice to Hughroy Currie in British title eliminators, and I think it would be hard to argue that Currie was groomed to being a star.

That's down to their managers not the promoter. Most of the Brits fought each other.Bruno was matched soft at the start but not as soft as Quarless compare their records.

Bruno's first 4 fights were all against men who had won more than they had lost.
Only 2 of Quarless first 7 fighters had winning records.
Your claims do not stand up to examination.

I remember him well. A fight between Noel and Frank Bruno was highly touted at one point. Would have been an easy victory for Bruno, imo.

I agree Quarless was entertaining but not in Bruno or Mason's class a prime Gardner would have beaten him imo.

Wasn't Sykes the subject of a late 1980s TV documentary (Panorama episode perhaps? Or something similar) .... about his violent life and his life in prison ?
Apologies if I have the wrong man.
