You guys are gonna think this is crazy....But i think Nogueira (yeah , the washed up version of Nogueira)....Could have a legit and solid chance vs JDS for 3 reasons. 1 - JDS is his protege. (and sparring partner) 2 - Everything JDS knows in the Jiujitsu department is no secret to Nog 3 - The psychological / respect aspect. (think Crocop vs pat barry...). As a matter of fact...maybe the 3rd reason would be the best to distabilize JDS if he had to fight his mentor. (giving him too much respect) Maybe he' try to avoid a brutal ko...And nog would win by UD or submit him on the ground. Then again , would Nogueira accept to fight JDS ? (and vice versa). They're almost like brothers. But hey , maybe Nogueira will never reach the chance to fight for the title anyway.
No, JDS knocks him out inside 1 round. Too slow and his durability has waned alot. Against lower level guys like Schaub his improved defence and strategy has helped but a guy like JDS will brutalise him.
If the fight went to ground then Nog wins, if Nog continues want to trade punches which isnt his specialty then he losses. Simple.
Prime Nog? no way. The current Nog would loose standing but win grappling. The win depends on where the fight takes place.
Nah I doubt that one. Even if they do fight. JDS has way better stand up and an awesome takedown defense.
#1 What makes you think Nog would be able to get him to the ground? #2 What makes you think JDS would be easy to sub once it gets there? #3 What makes you think Nog could survive on the feet with the most best puncher (maybe not THE hardest, but the quickest and most accurate) in the division when he gets stopped by Mir and Velasquez?
