Calzaghe will punch with proper technique...no slaps at all against Bhop! Just watch him hit that speedbag in training and rememeber - he won't swarm Hopkins - that would be suicide. He's going for the precise, volume powerpunching...just like he trained for on those pads with his dad. He won't slap!

I agree, for the most part. Joe has more control over his punch technique than some make out. But we'll see.

Can it be because the argument put forward by a lot of pro calzaghe analysts is, to cut it short, that calzaghe will win by higher work rate, not fighting too much on the inside and keeping B-hop working all through the rounds, boxing not brawling and so on. Seems like people who support b-hop dont think this can happen because joe is not hops class etc?

In retrospect if calzaghe absolutely whoops b-hop in the manner suggested by many pro calzaghe analysts above, will any props be forthcoming? Or will it be that they were kaaaraaaazzy to even suggest it?

Seems b-hop analysts can talk about b-hops strengths, right hand, ring craft and big fight experience and seem credible in what they are saying but calzaghe analysts cant state his strengths with the same respect.

Thanks for all the love guys....

Dorf is pure class...a phenominal poster, even if he WASNT picking Bernard (tho the fact that he is makes it easier...:D ). Definately one of my favorite people to read on here...just tremendous.

But Dec, I havent posted my breakdown of the fight yet. It is coming tomorrow night or Sat afternoon (work permitting of course...but it will be up). I have done more research on this fight than any I have done in the past...I pretty much watched both of their careers over again (most fights more than once....) as best I could. I watched their camp vids from their last few fights. I broke down their strengths, weaknesses, styles (as they pertain against each other), etc. HELL, I even watched a few recent fights of fighters of the trainers.... I spent so much time watching this ****...I think my wife left me the other day...and I still havent made up my mind if she really did or not (Im kidding of course...)....

The breakdown will be posted soon....:good

BTW, McGrain and 196osh both have argued their points respectfully (and Im not sure McGrain aint beyond saving...something in his posts tell me he doesnt feel entirely confident in picking Joe...)...as have others...its tough to pick two.

Tho it definately aint Jack Presscott and CHJ tho....

May I also add Diaconu TKO1 Dawson and Arthur UD Guzman?

I'm shocked Brooklyn is picking Hopkins. When I realized that his post was serious I stared at it for a minute in disbelief. I know he's a big B-Hop fan, but after all that analysis and debating, after rewatching the Winky fight and everything else, he's going with Hopkins? :yikes Sues2nd must have brainwashed him.

Interesting that the two most respected Hopkin's supporters, Dorfmeister + Sues2nd scored the fight exactly the same - 114-113 Calzaghe.
