Would be great if people could nominate fights that they would be interested in watching/rewatching so that we can get the ball rolling on this. Any takers?

This is harder than I remembered....While there are tons of fights that I would love to revisit and discuss in depth I am not sure others (or enough to make it worthwhile will? Guess you are already seeing that in the SRL thread), will also want to? So hopefully some others put a few fights out here...I don't care if it is from my list.

LOL I have deleted this and started over ten times now...Oh well I will just pick some more well known fights (although Patterson vs Quarry, Conteh vs Lopez or Torres vs Dick Tiger type stuff that seldom get discussed would be my type of picks)

    JMM vs Pac I
Ayala vs Tapia I or 2 or both together (for @FranklinDallas )
    Robert Quiroga vs Akeem Anifowoshe
    JCC vs Whitaker
    Pedroza vs Lockridge I
Brian Mitchell vs Tony Lopez I
    Cruz vs McGuigan
    Chacon vs Boza Edwards II
Limon vs Chacon (Any or all)
    Mancini vs Camacho
    Zarate vs Pintor
    Monzon vs Briscoe II
    Giardello vs Carter
    Nelson vs Fenech I
    Chandler vs Canizales

but I think to generate real interest it might need to be a higher profile fight.

For some reason, I've got Danny Lopez v Mike Ayala as the one I'd like to watch most.

I just watched that a week or 2 ago if you want to do a separate thread on it. Willing to glance at it again and discuss it if you or others are.

The refs stoppage around 13? Before it became a comical non stoppage made it almost controversial if not for Little Red taking it anyway.

I think Philly had some good nominations, for example:

    Castillo vs. Floyd 1
    Ali vs. Norton 3
    Spinks vs. Holmes 2
    Pea vs. DLH
    Morales vs. MAB 1
Calzaghe vs. Hopkins (We could add the Taylor vs. Hopkins fights... those always seem disputed)
    Toney vs. Montell
    Hagler vs. SRL
I'd even pick Hearns vs. SRL 2 (seems controversial to some)

After a very good Fight of the week #2 thread on the Zarate-Pintor fight, I'd like to nominate Duran-Barkley as a contender for next week.

Another close decision fight but an all-out gripping one as well. I haven't watched it for years either.

Will let thread creator @mrkoolkevin make the call though.

I would be open to this...but then again I would also be open to waiting a few more before we insert Duran into 2 of the first 3 fights. But I am open to a bunch of others. I am enjoying this so far and wish more than 7 of us would review it....I also wish I could stop getting newspaper decisions crammed down my throat instead of actual scorecards and observations lol

I didn't know that this thread existed, I sent mrkoolkevin a message earlier this week suggesting George Benton vs. Hurricane Carter. If you haven't watched it, it's only 10 rounds and it could be fought in a phone booth for the ones who like infighting. But there are a lot of good fights already suggested in this thread, so maybe we can get to it eventually. I'll make an effort to score which ever fight is selected - I'm trying to stop scoring even rounds!

    Holmes - Spinks II.

I haven't watched it in full since it happened and at the time believed Holmes won for sure. There was some support for Spinks at the time and i've seen a little in here the last year or two and i also read last week where Eddie Futch said Michael won that fight so i probably should go over it one day. Spinks gave away a lot of early rounds.
