No point asking anyone from the US their thoughts on a potential upset against Broner this weekend as it appears he is a huge hype job for American boxing so asking for an honest opinion absent any subjectivity is like asking Arum to let Pacquiao fight Floyd. Speaking objectively, Escobedo has an accomplished amateur career behind him, was a US Olympian and his only 2 recent losses were at 135 against tougher opposition than anyone Broner has faced. Basically, Escobedo has the better record/experience. You could say Escobedo also has the size advantage as he has at least fought at 135, but the truth is Broner is big at 130 anyway. I highly rate Broner and this fight will be telling. If he can stop Escobedo it will really solidify my opinion of him, but I don't think he will. I do expect a UD for Broner, I just think his speed will prove too much for the journeyman. What do you think?
Escobedo is just not elite so this will be a test for Broner. I see Escobedo as a sort of gate keeper at 130. If you beat him you are on the right side of the gate. The only thing I want to see is how Broner will react to facing a taller opponent. Donaire has not done well as he moved up and faced guys his height or taller.
Your azz is covered either way then, huh? If he keeps winning, you're right. If he loses, you're right?
I highly rate him for the potential he seems to possess and the undeniable speed and athleticism he displays in his fights. He is massively over-hyped as the next Mayweather, the future of American boxing and a top P4P contender. Stark contrast, my friend. No need for betting each-way and besides, I already stated I expect him to win this fight and the way in which he performs will indicate just how much more I might expect from him. Good day.
HBO hype isn't a good way to rate the proportion of fans to haters of a hypejob. HBO honestly doesn't give a **** as to whether people actually like Haymon hypejobs or not.
I agree with you. But what do I know. I'm just an American. My opinion is biased and I paint in broad, broad strokes.
Fair enough. I guess you deserve more credit. I've just been scared off from the delusional nationalistic fanboyism of Pacquiao/Pinoy supporters and tend to be highly skeptical of hyped up fighters and their respective nations now. Lol Subtle shots fired!!! Point taken. I apologize, see above as to the source of my generalization and tentative attitude regarding US fans opinions.
As a general rule, no peoples can rival the nationalism of that of Asian countries. Not even the Brits or Poles.
