    Yes he had many, If he had just beaten Ruben Olivares or Alexis Arguello his position would be solidified, as an ATG.

    Tim Witherspoon is a worthy mention. He was a two time heavyweight titlist, and a long time contender for years after.

    I don't think Witherspoon was robbed against Holmes. It was a very close fight no doubt, but Larry deserved the nod. Spoon's fight with Ray Mercer years later, was definately a robbery though. He should have gotten the win.

    Yep, That was a close one. Didn't Holmes have a knockout streak in title defenses, that was stopped by Witherspoon going the distance? No sure, It's been awhile.

    Many feel he beat Norton and Ali as well.

    Plenty of other good names as well. Jois Luis Garcia, who knocked out Ken Norton, ultra hard hitting Jeff Sims...
