I'm sick and tired of people hating on Donaire saying he is ducking or saying the opponent isn't doing enough and being tentative. Do you know why those opponents are tentative? Watch Montiel and Darchinyan KO! Donaire is a switch hitter that can counter-shot you when you open up even with a simple quick jab, and his counter-shot is not just a normal counter, his counter shot is a very quick and sharp blitzing punch that can put your lights out or seriously hurt and knock you down. That is the reason why the opponents are too careful and tentative to throw any shots even jabs and which is why you see them just following Donaire but not doing anything. A guy that can compete with Donaire is someone with speed and power also like a Gamboa but you have to get inside Donaire quick and not stay in his punching range where he can get off full counter levarage KO punches, you have to go in like a Prime Mike Tyson head movement bob and weave then rough him up on the inside. But they got to have speed and power for Donaire to get respect. Mares does not have this speed. Rigo might be able to do it but after his last fight, his chin is questionable. IMO the best guy to compete with Donaire is Gamboa Showdown at 126lbs. Again it's not because the opponent suck or Donaire isn't doing anything, it's because they are tentative of the KO counter-shoe of Donaire. Switch Hitter
Donaire has a weak offense. He's a talented guy, but he can't create a simple offense on a stationary target. He needs to go back to the basics and stop tryin to imitate Roy Jones.
I understand your point but if you are winning the fight, you don't have to initiate the offense. Same logic with Floyd, why would Floyd try and trade with his opponent when he is winning while being slick and backing up? See what i mean there? Now if Donaire was just looking cute and not doing anything and he is losing the fight and geting outbox then obviously, he needs to initiate and create an offense. But Donaire has been winning so why change something that isn't broke. It ain't Donaires fault and he is winning.
