Even when he gets hit a lot he just walks right through them. When he fought Darchinyan, he walked through Darchinyan's power shots and then KO'ed him. Against Vazquez, Mathebula, Nishikoa and Arce, they all landed huge shots and not once did Donaire wobble. Rigondeaux has lots of power but even he wont be able to penetrate Donaire's world class chin. Donaire gots this fight in the bag, easy win for the Filipino Flash. This content is protected
Watch the rafael concepcion fight. He got caught a lot. I see rigo stopping donaire with a left straight to the body.
The problem is that if you go to Donaire's body, your keeping your hands down and become susceptible to the counter left hook that Donaire wants to land.
I don't know if it's the best. To be honest, the Flash hasn't really been hit by big shots from guys known to be able to crack too often. He isn't invincible. Donaire is just fun as hell to watch to me. I won't miss any of his fights for that reason. And that Darchinyan starching in '07 was delicious. :bbb
On top of that, Rigo has to enter the red zone (which is inside Donaire's wheelhouse) to land any damaging body work. Rigo is very, very dangerous to the body, though. That can't be pointed out enough. Donaire admitted that ARCE landed a good shot to his body -- Rigo is a different kind of guy who can STOP his opponent with bodywork.
It's good but I don't know about the best. Donaire has never really been in a war where we can find out for sure how good it is. I would rank a guy like Rios above Donaire in the chin department.
Donaire naturally likes to keep his hands down to invite the opponent to go for his head so he can counter. What's Rigo going to do, hit Donaire's arms all night long and do no damage?
