Full article on the Ring website. But basically here's what Donaire had to say about his ranking in the P4P top ten:

“I’m really flattered by THE RING’s ranking. I’m honored by it and by any other website or magazine that ranks me with the best in the sport, but I don’t think I deserve it yet. I have to fight more elite fighters to deserve it.

“So far, I’ve got one guy on my record. I need more. In my opinion, I have the ability and the skills to be ranked that high, but I want to prove it to fans, and I want to see it for myself. I have to show my potential in fights against the best.”

Good. At least he knows it and wants to prove it. I can't wait till the Monitel fight!

That kid reminds me so much of Ray Leonard, minus all the fighting the best part. "I'm such a nice guy, twinkle, twinkle, let me be your friend. Look how respectful I am. I would hang out with any politician or celebrity. Can I be your friend, please? I'm a golden boy. I'm so charming and talented...If you let me be your friend, I'll be your best friend... Know me! Love me! I believe in eye protection!"

He still gave Hagler a merciless beatdown.

"CRASH BOOM BANG, CHIKUM BOOM PAW!"

At least he's got the right attitude. Beating Montiel would be huge for him.

 If the definition of "merciless beat-down" is now "pitter-patter-polishing of a bald human head for thirty seconds every few minutes" than, yes, it was a VERY "merciless beat-down'.

Nah, he's a talented kid. He's just got this ODLH, SRL personality trait, I can't help but pick up on. "I'll say whatever gets me fans and friends and laid." kind of deal.

A beatdown is a clear win despite everything being stacked against you. Ray probably didn't even have time to spar, he just got out the nursing home and drove straight to the stadium. 3 years of laying on his ass and he sees Hagler being a clown on TV, "...Is this the best Boxing has to offer these days, best go lace em up".

Hagler gets his best win in years against an undefeated murderous puncher.

"Teee hee! This will be a cakewalk. No danger at all. I've got a better chance of getting knocked out fighting Pryor".
