Havent seen tonnes of Banal yet. Seems promising, but i would lean to Donaire at this stage.

Obviously there is talent but frankly I don't think he has enough of it to progress his way to the top. His division is just too stacked.

Boom Boom is an obvious example of an enourmously hyped young talent, it seems to me AJ is about to traverse the same path except that it will happen much later (clearly his management is not going to rush into things, owing to the stigma of the Boom2x disaster).

well if he waited for mijares, montiel, others to get old or move-up in weight then he could have a good shot. i don't know about kirilov but maybe he can take him now even at his young age. even if he lose, it would not be as dramatic as ko1 of bautista from de leon for kirilov is not known as a puncher. it would be a learning experience for him win-or-lose. but your right about his management not wanting to rush him like what they did to boom-boom.

and about talent and skills, imo he has lots of it. good movement, power in both hands, improving defense at such a young age. the only question is his heart because he has yet to be tested against top competition.

Donaire will win if they fight now.. give it three to four years Aj can pull an upset! Remember, AJ is very young and raw. There is still a lot of room for improvement!

Donaire, because he knockout Darchinyan. Banal has a good chance. Donaire has already proven that he can knockout a prime-time boxer. Good fight. I would like to see it happen.

anybody upload AJ's fight with Herrera?? I saw the fight on TV and what an impressive showing for Banal against an IBF number 2 contender and ranked top ten in most boxing organization.

Herrera was supposed to be the Uruguayan "manny pacquiao" with an undefeated record. Yet he was completely mismatched against the 7 years younger AJ banal.

What was so amazing was the boxing maturity of AJ despite being 19 years old. When he had Herrera in trouble, he was stiil picking his spots and not rushing things. And he has KO power in both hands which is unusual for power punchers.

    thanks for sharing this PacD.

The more i watch Donaire the more i like him. The guy is collected, strong, fast, accurate, skilled, and always in good position. IMO Banal gets out of position with that super wide stance when he goes on the offensive and takes a while to get back into position. A guy like Donaire would take advantage off that with quick right hands underneath and over the top again and again as Donaire is good at slipping punches and then countering.

Donaire's main flaw really is that he tends to get overconfident and in those situations loses some of his poise. Also his hands
