the weigh-in, stare-down meant absolutely nothing other than the fact that rigo is not 5'4.5" if nonito is 5'5.5".

there was about a three inches difference.

Fighting is a mental game as well as a physical game. It doesn't bode well that Rigo can't even look his guy in the eye. As soon as they broke the stare he turns his head away.

Seems to me Nonaire swooped down just to get Rigo look into his eye's not on his mouth.

FOR ****ING ****'s SAKE, RIGO, This is a staredown, noe a mouth stare.

Will be looking forward to looking this fight tho. I hope I get home early tomorrow to see this fight, will be driving from salt lake to bay area tomorrow.

    WAR!!!

I love it that after all this time of watching fights we still think a weigh in means anything at all. A fighter could be nervous and shaking at a weigh in and it means nothing. The important thing is his mentality on fight night. Even if a fighter is nervous when they're touching gloves that's not necessarily a bad thing, it means that they are aroused for the fight and ready to perform.
Rigondeaux just looked like he didn't want to get emotionally involved with the situation at all, he just wanted to get it over and done with. That's not being passive, that's being cold and focused on the job at hand. A staredown is for the media and you idiots that think it will give some indication about the fight. Rigo is calm and collected, he isn't interested in promoting the fight or pleasing the fans. He's an athlete, his only job is in the ring tomorrow night. Donaire wants to entertain and be a star, Rigo is focused on the fight.

Everything is a mental game. You can be a coward before midday and a hero in the evening. Someones mentality at a weighin is completely different to their mentality in the fight. Maybe Donaire enjoys the crowd and commotion, maybe Rigo doesn't like the attention. That says nothing about their confidence/self-belief when it comes to boxing. It's not a dick measuring/chest beating contest to prove who is the most manliest, it's a sport and your skills in the ring are the only thing that counts.

Both look ready but only one has elite level experience under his belt at this level. I have Nonito winning handily. Stare down means ****....but it was funny how Rig stares directly at Nonito's nose. Has he always done this?

    Good weigh in.

The only important thing that came out of it was that they both made weight.

I never make a big deal about anything related to weigh ins unless of course Chisora slaps somebody.

I really don't see the point of Rigo not looking Donaire in the eyes. He will when the bell rings, so it just seems pointless and childish even.

Both guys looked calm... Donaire did more to provoke him than fighters do 95% of the time, so good for marketing/build up/etc... It did look like Rigo was breathing really heavy at the very end of the stare down and photo shoot, but maybe he was the whole time.

Yeah weight in means something only when one of the fighters had problems to make weight and doesn't look healthy. They both made weight comfortably so lets see how the fight unfolds.

I think Donaire is just to big for this weight class. Can Rigo overcome the size?
