It was an excellent performance from Rigondeaux but let's not forget he won most rounds by only 2 or 3 clean shots, that's why I'm not terribly impressed. He didn't show a lot of variety.

Yeah that may be... Any close rounds early I gave donaire for pressing the action, but it's 5:30 over here and I'm still pissed  point being though any round that could be scored for donaire I think I scored for him and I had it 116-111.

Wait, that's not my point at all, my point is if the fix was in the scorecard would have favoured nonito and not rigo. A close card for rigo cannot possibly indicate a fix for nonito.

Yeah, that's a distinct possibility in all three cases. Yamanaka actually might have the best chance of the three, imo. Russell needs to step up, though I personally believe he has the skill-set to hang with and beat anyone at or near his weight.

11-1 to Rigo. Gave him a boxing lesson then a beatdown in the final round. It wasn't even competitive, no matter how much the commentators were cheering on Donaire.

I scored it 10-2 rounds for Rigondeaux (5th and 10th for Donaire), 117-110 in points. Masterclass in slick boxing by Rigondeaux. Donaire was a huge disappointment. Training with Garcia by phone???!!! Trouble making 122 for first time ever??? Not watching any video of Rigondeaux???!!! Obviously not having any Plan A, B, or C in the ring??? Donaire has a lot to answer for his poor preparation and performance, and trotting out excuses isn't going to get it done. A rematch must be inevitable at some point, if Donaire has any professional pride he will want to atone for tonight. Slim pickings remain at 122 for Rigondeaux, probably Santa Cruz and that's it, so he will have to move up for the fights that will add to his legacy.

Close as in head to head, inside. No, he did not try it. It's not an excuse. Rigo won fair and square but I can still talk boxing. I don't have to exclusively praise him. In fact, I wasn't nearly as impressed as many here. More dissapointed with Nonito's lack of action, which he has been showing in many of his past fights.

Considering the quality of the opposition, winning every round with the exception of one by 2 or 3 clean shots IS impressive.

2 or three clean shots a round made 24 to 30 by fight end, and 2 or 3 is more than 0

He's basically summed up Donaire's career, good and bad, right there.

Hang on a minute, if I scored 116-111 that means I had it 9-3 doesn't it? Yeah cos I think I had it 4-2 rigo after 6 and then the 10th obviously.

    Ok.

But you have to realize that when a fighter doesn't do what's expected from him...it may be because what's in front of him.

    Donaire tried...

But wasn't able to beat that.
