Donaire has stated that he wanted to face the winner of Hasegawa/Montiel but i dont know why montiel isn't showing interest. Maybe donaire was hoping that Hasegawa would win cuz it's a much bigger fight.. HIm vs Hasegawa in an all asian showdown would be massive in Japan..

Who'd win if they were to fight right now?

Not sure how this will go down. Last I heard before Hasegawa/Montiel, Hasegawa wanted to enter the 126 picture straight from 118.

and after the fight he said he will stay at 118lbs until he gets revenge.
I´d still pick Hasegawa to beat anyone at around that weight.
He got caught by a great double lefthook great win for Montiel but that wont happen again in case Hasegawa recovers mentally well from that loss.

Are you saying that was a fluke win by Montiel?

Montiel was always a great fighter and no way it was a fluke.. I like hasegawa but he elevated his game by fighting a bunch of stiffs and mediocre opponents. Still a good fighter, i like his style..

Hasegawa made a mistake and Montiel took full advantage out of it.
Great shot, great win. But other than that hes not on the same level as Hasegawa is.
