This fight will never happen and probably never would have happened if Hozumi was able to stay at 118 for another 10 years. If this fight could take place at 118 how would you see it going?

Good take, do you think Donaire would be ahead on the cards? If so, comfortably?

I'm not sure which way you're swinging that implication blade. :think

Anyway, I don't necessarily see Donaire doing what Montiel did.

I wasn't tryng to imply anything negative on either fighter. I think to this point Donaire has been mismanaged, and going by Arum's reputation there's no way that Donaire would be paired against Hozumi, and it's hard to imagine Hozumi leaving Japan. Hence, the fight would probably never happen even if Hozumi was somehow able to stay at 118 for another several years. It's just the business.

    Gotcha. :good

Put that way it does make sense.

It's a nice fight to think about, though. I'm having a hard time with the winner (though my gut says HH, being a bit savvier technically while Donaire is a bit basic but highly effective within being basic).

Hasegawa's speed and mobility earns him a close decision over Donaire.

I'll take Hasegawa - probably by decision. Both of them have speed and pack a punch but I think Hozumi has a little more to his game - I think he could get in and out using angles and box his way to a decision. If Donaire tries to box southpaw for half the fight, then he gets ko'd.

I'd love this fight to have happened. Donaire has spoken of moving up through the weightclasses, possibly all the way to 130 or 135, so maybe their paths will cross at some point in the future. Well, I can dream can't I?

Would be a brilliant fight. I believe it'd go all 12 rounds and that Donaire MIGHT take it. SD or 115-113 something like that. I'd pay to watch it, no question there.

Donaire would get exposed and completely taken apart

I think Hasegawa is stronger and faster than Donaire.

    Their skills are almost equal.

The fight should go to distance.
