Gibson circles around casually blocking, switching southpaw and jabbing the body. Back to orthodox. Whipping left hook to the head by Gibson, coming up off his toes. Rodriguez is walking into left jabs trying to land his right hand over the top. Rodriguez doesn't have the power or balance to get in on Gibson. Jabs and quick slap-down hooks by Gibson while circling lazily to his left. Very low output by Gibson, but working cleaner than Rodriguez. Rodriguez drops a 1-2 to the body but gets his gloves knocked aside. Gibson ducks inside, leaning low, and protects his ribs with his arm lain across them (and his cup is hoisted up almost to his nipples to cover everything below them...). Jabs popped up by Gibson.

Rodriguez is settling down now, tossing left jabs in succession. Ooh, nice exchange as Rodriguez pushes in behind that jab. Right hand chopping and landing, but Gibson shipping one back while ducking. Rodriguez is landing quite a few jabs despite Gibson's rolling and bending down - using sheer numbers as Rodriguez almost never stops shaking out that left glove. Gibson's refusal to put in work is hurting him this round, still landing left jabs of his own when he wants to but they're being vastly outnumbered. No power punches from Gibson. CHOPPING right to the jaw by Rodriguez.

Round 5

Rodriguez creeps out a jab and Gibson sideswipes him with his own while moving. Gibson is flapping out quick left hooks and then hastily reassembling his guard - which is now a high pair of earmuffs rather than that looser Philly shell he had earlier. Rodriguez is chopping away with right hands and getting a bit wide. Gibson blocking whatever's narrow enough to come close. Gibson holds his left glove out after pawing a jab, trying to hold Rodriguez back with his palm. Rodriguez whips a right hand around behind it, tagging Gibson behind the ear. Uppercut on the way in by Rodriguez. Another. Short 1-2 by Gibson. Chopping right by Rodriguez. Gibson is a bit hurt, and leaning back on the ropes. Good instincts by Gibson, crossing his forearms across his face and slinking back against the ropes to melt away u under Rodriguez's chaotic spray of fire. Rodriguez isn't landing the follow-up shot that could end it for him. They maneuver out to center ring and Rodriguez chops some more rights!! Gibson hurt!
