Rodriguez works the jab on the shorter Brates. Rodriguez is pumping several jabs at a time out into Brates' wall of hair. Brates comes charging in with combos, firing the right hand up high and hooking with his left. Rodriguez keeps him at bay with jabs and body shots.

Rodriguez is sticking the jab into Brates' face and throwing right hands that begin to smear Brates' nose with blood from a small cut somewhere. Brates is throwing hard but outclassed by the taller, faster, sharper Rodriguez. A few Brates rights crash down hard into Rodriguez's chin from above, but he's unmoved by them.

Rodriguez is throwing single jabs and quick straight combos from the outside as Brates ducks and shimmies to find a look. Brates stops and starts many times before pressing in. Clinch. Rodriguez slaps him across the back. Brates tries to wrench down on Rodriguez's arms. 1-2 by Rodriguez, ducked and clubbing Brates across the side of the head. More clinching. Break ordered by the ref. Double jab by Brates before sliding back. He flicks a few more outside. Another clinch.

Round 4

Rodriguez is curling right hands in to the body and jabbing through Brates' gloves. Brates is beginning to show the ill effects of the body shots, cringing away from them and hurrying to the ropes. Rodriguez plants more hooks downstairs and Brates is clinching whenever he runs out of room. Rodriguez keeps working the body until his arms get grabbed. Brates won't let go until the ref makes him. Rodriguez misses a high jab and collapses atop Brates throwing a 1-2, smothering himself. Brates is warned for holding. Rodriguez chases him into a corner with two high right hands and digs a hard left to the body. Brates holds onto his right arm and it's the only thing holding him up as another left hook to the body makes his knees buckle.
