Nic & Silence made a great team; gave prime Rafa two of his toughest nights in his bantam reign.

I don't think he struggled nearly as much as some do. Hell, a good many people on here were saying Mathebula was robbed, which is just downright absurd.

He did, however, in his own words have problems with Mathebula's long jab and workrate.

If Durandt had of tought Silence some defense, he would have faired much better. Some of these trainers from overseas really frustrate me. They have guys who have talent, but they don't teach them the basics half the time. Mabuza would have went much farther with his career, had he been tought some defense.

I think Mabuza did fine and was ready to dominate bantamweight just as he was in the middle of the last decade - he was just extremely unfortunate to run into the awesomely destructive force of a prime and peaking Rafael Marquez (twice! - and while the first one didn't last all that long compared with the sustained war in the rematch, it was still plenty damaging with those cuts developing early)

The winner should fight Vetyeka for the lineal featherweight championship.

That would be terrific. I'd like it better if the winner of Gonzalez vs. Arce fought Mares and the winner of that fought the winner of Vetyeka and the winner of this one. That would be a true undisputed lineal starting point.

(all due respect to IBF champ Gradovich, but he just isn't a necessary part of that equation)

Sorry, I meant Gonzalez, who is #1 in the TBRB.

Walters-Gonzalez would be a fun fight.

Looks like there will be no rematch with Vetyeka..

Nevermind the rematch, I thought Donaire wants Jim Lampley's boy Rigondeaux? Is he luring Rigondeaux out to 126? :think

Nicholas Walters is a great opponent, don't get me wrong here.. He actually finished Darchinyan faster than Donaire. Only 4 boxers managed to hear the sound of the final bell.. Though the only notable win is Darchinyan..

Is Donaire trying to unify this division? This is a tough division to campaign in with Walters, Salido and Lomachenko.. Too bad he won't get a chance at either Mares or Gonzales.. Komanisi is a notable opponent too..

Guys, your thoughts on this one? :bbb

this fight will answer some questions. Is Walters that good? Has Nonito become washed up? etc etc
