Narvaez is better defensively. And at using angles.

    That's because opponents generally can't hit him.:yep

Unfair post anyways on Narvaez, I think you'll be surprised.

Standard really, he's immense. I'd pick him to stop anyone from bantam-super bantam, with the exception of Agbeko maybe. This thread wasn't made because it was 50-50.

Because you're doing him a disservice.

If you think he'll be lucky to "walk out of the run on two feet" then yeah, you'll be surprised, especially when you consider the fact that Montiel managed that clearly monumental feat. He's not going to win, might not even win a round, but he'll exceed most peoples expectations.

Like what expectations are those! he is moving up weight and at that your asking alot and who has he fought that gives him a better chance then anyone else that has fought Donaire "NONE".

I'm not asking a lot of him. You didn't even read the OP did you? I gave my prediction for the fight, and not once did I say I anticipated anything close to a Narvaez victory.

You did him a great disservice, were even disrespectful I would go as far to say, in your post, if that's what you think you'll be surprised.

Their is a difference between disrespect and being truthfull, I just like to keep it real and not bull **** people that he has a chance when he does not.

" the only thing good he can hope for is that he will be able to walk out of the ring on his own 2 feet"

    Yes, no disrespect there.

You just continue to "keep it real", maybe some Johnny Owen or Billy Collins joke to show that?

Anyways, the above is the reason I post these threads in here rather than the general. Just one of them has managed to **** me off here, imagine what I'd be like if you multiplied it by 30. Stuff like that just annoys me, I'm not an advocate of ''you shouldn't have an opinion if you haven't boxed(I think it's an idiotic point of view to have in fact)'', but that's the kind of post that grinds my gears, it's almost a generalisation nowadays and it's a shameful way to speak about a top class fighter. Dominated and stopped sure, but the best case scenario being to leave on his feet is a damn irritating and ignorant thing to spew out, and it's NOT ''keeping it real'' for crying out loud, it's being idiotic and short-sighted.

But back on topic, there doesn't seem to be much of Omar in circulation, so I'll post up some Donaire stuff now and shall proceed to scour all sources I can find for Narvaez-related material.

I have no idea whether or not this is a vid related to the Donaire fight:lol:, I have no sound so have no way of knowing if his name is mentioned, though there's clips of a public workout pre-Whitfield which has me doubting the relevance of this, though it may be a segment from the news or a TV show or something so I really can't tell for the moment in relation to this vid, other than this it's looking like all I've got is quotes for the most part.

I get where the lad is coming from though. From the one fight I was recommended, Narvaez looked good, but nothing special IMO.

Well, not when he's going in with Nonito anyway.

I don't get where he's coming from. Montiel literally(literally) had his head dented by Donaire but was still able to walk out of the ring, using both of his feet no less.

I understand and agree with the rather obvious answer that Donaire dominates just about every round and stops him, I think he's a special talent, he does that to almost all he could feasibly step in with for me.

That comment however is the kind of one that's designed to be hyperbolic, but I'm not even sure he's doing that, just being a moron(for want of a kinder word). Senseless, thoughtless, unnecessary, leave it out.

Fair enough. I'm sure it was just hyperbolic. As it stands, I'm not certain myself that Narvaez is even on Montiels level. Completely different styles and application of course, so it's entirely feasible he'll take less damage than the aggressive Montiel.

Impossible to tell considering his level of opposition. Montiel's proven against fellow high-class opponent's, Narvaez is proven to be several levels above decent fighters at world level(and an AT LEAST very good one in Seda, possibly even more).

Montiel attempted to coax Donaire into falling for traps in the first, realised that it was a no-go so decided to get aggressive in the second. He was actually having some underrated success before getting decimated.

As I say, Narvaez ain't going to do that. Or, at least, I rate his in-ring intellect enough that he won't make those kind of decisions. I honestly don't believe the difference in size to be that big a deal - Seda is of very similar size - more the fact that Narvaez is not a bantamweight, and that he's a very good fighter, whereas Donaire's potentially great.

I maintain he'll do better than most are expecting though, simply because Donaire won't be able to land nearly as much as he's used to, and that'll frustrate a perfectionist like Donaire even if he is clearly winning the fight on the cards.

    EDIT: Nobby .
