Wasn't the Marquez fight the one where Donaire spent nearly all the fight as a southpaw just because he was a bit bored?

Yeah fair enough, I'd obviously have to agree that beating Wonjongkam>>>>>a win over Marquez. As I said before, I consider it more a good win for the fact he looked only half up for the fight, fighting southpaw for so long when it was obviously not working but then getting a very good stoppage. The performance itself was possibly one of the worst I've seen from him but I just thought the way he was able fight like that and still get a win over a world level fighter more points to the fact he is something special. Sorry if I didn't explain myself too well.

Like I say, I have Donaire no.5 at p4p at the min (although I only have a top 5, gets too confusing for me from there on) so I think he's stepped it up significantly recently but as you say he has plenty of time to carry on going and there are some potentially huge fights along the way which could hopefull turn him into an ATG.

So long as he gets through tonight without a problem, which I think he should just about do :good

Sydorenko fight was brutal. That left-hook Sydorenko got nailed with made me laugh....Sydorenko looked baffled as ****...like what are you supposed to do against that?

131lbs is pathetic. Shocking, and starts to make these kinda' wins even more meaningless than they already are.

There should be a re-hydration limit IMO, and not just for IBF title fights.

I don't think rehydration limits work. Its pretty hard to control what weight is going back on. I think you'll get even more fights being cancelled and thats definitely not what we need. And really once you've embraced mega weight draining by having the system we do I don't think you can then turn around and say 'Hang on, you're not allowed to refuel your body'.

Impose fines on the fighters, and you'd hope they'd just start fighting at a more natural weight for them. It's just stupid, this is in no way a Bantamweights fight yet it's being contested for the title.

Donaire is essentially a super feather battering a, at best, super Bantamweights I imagine, although I admit that is a hunch as I have no idea how much Narvaez will creep up to. But for a man who can make super fly, and not a big one, I doubt he will be anywhere near Donaire tonight in terms of weight.

Too many fighters doing this nowadays, I think it cheapens the sport a bit. Still, weight cutting doesn't make Nonito the craftsman he is, so I'll still be staying up to tune in.

But it makes no sense to suddenly start fining people for rehydrating when the system is screaming out to fighters that they ought to cut weight excessively to try and gain an advantage by fight night. The IBF system is a mish-mash of ideas that don't really fit well together.

I mean you have to either cut the bull**** and weigh in same day and perhaps have strict rules and regulations that govern what a fighter is allowed to cut from to ensure safety. Or you just accept the current system for what it is. I don't think you can have a half way house where the damage has already been done by allowing people that are gifted for cutting weight to get down to an insane limit.

Yes, it is a double edged sword. They will never go back to same day weigh in's, I'll have to carry on being disgruntled.

Wasn't that kind of identical to the Montiel KO. I believe Sydorenko threw a right that connected grazingly and in reply he took a left hook out of nowhere
