Monaghan is chasing with right hands. Pietrantonio shoves him off while seeking solace on the ropes. Uppercut by Monaghan but he's backed off by a right hand from Pietrantonio. Monaghan puts him on the ropes with a right hand. Pietrantonio skips away to his left. HARD left hook to the body doubles Pietrantonio over and makes him open his mouth wide. They trade hooks, Pietrantonio bravely standing his ground but getting rocked by harder better punches from Monaghan. BIG combo by Monaghan putting Pietrantonio on the ropes. Monaghan carries him across the ring, half-holding and half-peppering him. Pietrantonio is flopping all over the place and looks almost ready to go. Mouthpiece comes out of Pietrantonio. The referee waits for a slight break in the action and has it put back in. They trade jabs, both landing but Monaghan's sharper. Pietrantonio dances away and ducks a right hand. Pietrantonio is pushing his left arm out as a barrier, backing away slowly and spoiling. He's exhausted, leaning back against the ropes and getting hit without even defending himself anymore.
