    Round 1

Jackson is holding his arms up to either side, his fists and head forming a "W' pattern. Feints by Jackson as the shorter man circles him. Rainone pops a high right jab while circling to the left. Rainone keeps flicking out jabs, doubling them. Jackson takes a stiff right jab to the belly while reaching with his longer left jab and getting ducked. Long reaching right hand is ducked. Rainone really isn't getting close with much. Right jab low by Rainone and then a clubbing right hook up top that lands loudly behind Jackson's left ear. Rainone keeps popping the right jab and keeping Jackson on the outside.

    10-9 Rainone

Gomez isn't British. Only Rhodes and Hatton count.

I would like to agree but I think that promoters and fans are both part of the problem. Still a circus act like UFC is ruled and promoted a lot better than boxing. Long discussion will finish it some other time :)

This is a good night of boxing, but the problem with boxing as a whole is that the promoters have become greedy and the only time you have a competetive fight is in a megafight. We, as consumers, pay good money to pad these guys pockets, and we should expect more.
It would be nice to see two guys with equal skills go at it and not be in a megafight.

    Round 2

Jabs and lunging rights by Jackson. He's landing a bit better by being first. Rainone quickly adjusts and starts to circle and bob on the outside. Rainone slips as Jackson tosses out long left jabs from his capital-W stance. Rainone misses a high right jab and a follow-up left to the body as Jackson backs up and parries down. Rainone circles and crouches, watching Jackson. Left jabs in the air by Jackson. Whipping right hook up top by Rainone. Jackson throws a 1-2, ducked. Rainone tosses his right jab toward Jackson's chest but gets caught on Jackson's right palm slapping down. Left jab to the body by Jackson, but the right cross behind it is ducked. Jackson waves his W around, moving his arms to either side of his face rhythmically. Rainone slaps with another high right hook but Jackson takes it well. Long right hand to the body by Jackson. Another slapping right hook to the face at the bell by Rainone.

    19-19

It's annoying how a professional boxing journalist like Lillis can completely forget/avoid the Gomez fight (as terrible as it was).

Jackson's trainer is Richard Johnston, uncle (and trainer) of Stevie "Lil But Bad" Johnston.

    Round 3

Jackson lands a right hand and at that exact moment Rainone slips on the canvas and goes to his knees. Smoger correctly rules a slip/push. Rainone holds out his right jab and tries to hook off it but isn't able to put much snap on it as it's already stretched halfway to its destination. Rainone is trying to get inside but Jackson is keeping him out with his constant movement and those long sentinel arms. Lead left to the body by Rainone is back-stepped. Jackson is brushing his hair with a few slow but well-timed left jabs. Rainone flurries into the gloves and forearms of Jackson. Clinch. Jackson waves his arms to either side again, looking like he's dancing along to a jaunty tune. Rainone keeps jabbing into the left wrist of Jackson. Lunging left to the body by Rainone, diving in. They tie up. They land together, with Rainone landing a left hook and Jackson a left hook.

    29-28 Jackson

    Round 4

Jackson is feeling the beat. Rainone tries to plug away but can't get past the reach. Jackson shimmies and jogs his bulky high guard to either side. Rainone can't penetrate the Floating Fortress. Rainone has a right jab swatted aside by a Jackson forearm. Nice 1-2 by Rainone, reaching and just grazing. They trade jabs, Jackson giving Rainone something to think about on the way out after diving in with left jabs to the body. Rainone comes forward and gets spun around; Jackson lands a rabbit punch and immediately glances to the ref with a contrite look of "Uh-oh!!!" Rainone is pissed off but doesn't pitch a fit, just comes back at Jackson and pops his right jab. High flurry to the guard by Rainone. Jackson misses an uppercut backing up. Hard bashing 1-2 by Rainone, again hitting the W guard. Slapping right hook to the eyebrow by Rainone as he's reaching across for Jackson's dipping face.

    10-9 Rainone

    38-38

I'll give that one to Rainone. He outworked the bigger man, landed about 12 clean shots, but coulda been hurt turning his back on the big man.
    3-1 Jax
