Narvaez is far far superior to Clottey when it comes to skills. Both fighters didn't come to win, though. I think in Narvaez case it's a bit more acceptable. I know that may seem like a tough one to defend but the guy was out-gunned physically, and just flat out looked like a midget against Donaire and he handled himself well in the first 6 rounds. He was a bit too negative after that, but if this was a good payday for him and if it helped him gain more exposure for fights in the US then I can't knock the guy. Boxing is a business foremost. What has Clottey done since. He's been MIA since that fight. Narvaez didn't completely embarrass himself either.

Zab Judah stopped Zab Judah against Clottey. Don't make ot sound like Clottey knocked him out.

Clottey... the guy deserves every loss on his record and has lost every fight exactly the same way. Terrible style for the fans. No thanks.

    Nah.

Narvaez was undefeated before tonight and had held his title for quite some time. Josh Clottey does a good heavy bag impression.

What BE said though was about Narvaez specifically at bantam. We don't really know a lot about Narvaez the bantam. We know Narvaez the fly/super-fly is very good.

We have a much larger sample size of welterweight Clottey.

He specified talent and size. I think Narvaez is a more talented fighter than Clottey.

And this is the supposedly number 3/4 fighter in the world? I don't think so, he still needs to fight against quality opponents and look impressive in them. Two great KOs against quality opponents aren't going to do it. You have to do more and when your fighting a guy that's tiny you need to take 'em out.

    IB funfact:

This is the 3rd all-time-most-replied-to RBR thread in General Forum history (among the top twenty most replied to threads, period).

Ahead of it are only Marquez-Diaz II...and last week's Dawson-Hopkins.

Whatever.I don't see the need for riddles. Donaire was fighting in the same weight class not too long ago.

l I know that virtually every boxing fan on earth saw Clottey/Pac playing out exactly like it did but people expected a more competitive fight tonight.

and he was a ****ing giant there who had to boil down and was still a fair few inches taller than anyone else there....people expected Narvaez to be blown out, in fact Donaire was 3/1 on to stop Narvaez and was 25 to one on to win

:soccergr:, Marquez-Pac 3 and Cotto-Margarito 2 might surpass all 3, what you think?

Most everyone considered Narvaez a very live underdog in this fight.

I'm really not even sure what your issue with my comment is to be honest.

Against a tiny, old, but credible fighter he needed to come out with more. This fight was all set up to make him look good again. If fans are going to overreact and just listen t what Kellerman says and automatically put him P4P top 5 without doing much, then he needs to look impressive in a set up fight.
