That isn't exactly fair; he picks shots off with his gloves pretty regularly - Donaire is just very precise (at least with his jab, and short counter left hook...and the right given that he is squared up in the proper range...the lunging version from outside is a mess).

That said, he doesn't incorporate a lot of head movement, no.

Couldnt watch the fight, had to go to job.

This is and gonna be FOTY. It was a ****ing god sent gift after Canelo Kovalev embarassment. Thats how you fight a favorite. Donaire unlike Kovalev is a true champ and did what Kovalev didnt even try to do, gain respect from his opponent, if he had fought like Kovalev, he would get blasted in 4 rounds.

I loved how Inoue was playing with public at the end of 11 round, you dont see that showmanship from Asian fighters. He is a star.

Oh yeah, @Boxing Prospect - about twenty minutes after the main event was over I took at peek on Keyhole at Fuji TV. It was already onto whatever programming was scheduled after boxing.

They didn't squeeze in that Abe vs. Miura four rounder for a walkout bout, did they?

If anybody's blood is up and you're having live boxing withdrawal symptoms later tonight, RJJ Promotions does have a card on UFC Fight Pass....although I warn you, it will be of very low quality (and not just held up to Inoue vs. Donaire standards :sisi1)

    What a great fight !

Inoue and Donaire are both warriors. Kudos to them two.

I think this is the best year of WBSS so far. Taylor vs Prograis, and now this.

Hell, best year of championship tournament action in modern boxing?

Was there any pair of fights in the S6 that stand clearly above Taylor vs. Prograis and this?

Is that a mixed card? Boxing, kickboxing, MMA? And yeah I'll pass. Not interested in anything until Calvin Kattar vs. Zabit Magomedsharipov this weekend.

Check this interview out. Listen from 55 seconds onwards in particular.

I think you won't have a very hard time getting behind this guy for a plethora of reasons.

What a fight. And how on earth did Nonito survive the 11th?

Because the ref blocked an incoming Inoue and then gave Nonito about 13-14 seconds.
