then we will give him another 2 rounds to knock out vic because based on your assumption, he has improved. I do not see any major improvements on darchinyans defense and movement. he still is the same telegraphic power puncher, he just added some punches in his arsenal.

Yet Miljares who was gonna school and embarress Vic couldn't see them telegraphic punches coming, who knows if the rematch does happen Nonito may come in over confident expecting Vic to just lunge in wide open again and end up on the bad end of a KO highlight reel himself.

lol, that was mijares because vics style was so awkward he could not figure him out. Mijares is used to fighting orthodox fighters so he was not able to cope with darchinyans awkward stance, add to the fact that vic is so powerful and he throws accurate and punch combinations. Nonito is different, he is a switchhitter and throws nasty counters.

Styles make fights. Donaire still wins this match via KO imo.

I'd actually pic donaire via decision since Vic would be very cautious knowing he will get ****ed up if goes jumping in, he may end up trying to play the counter puncher him self and let Donaire come to him, he even said himself he thanks Nonito for beating him as it taught him exactly how he needs to approach the style of other fighters now.

WHat's all this talk of DOnaire being hyped " prematurely "??? He's beaten an undefeated champion in Vic, Maldo, and now another hyped fighter in Martinez... **** he's being brought along just fine.. He deserves the credits.. Some people just wanna say anything to discredit a fighter.. And look, after getting destroyed, Vic went on to beat God Mijarez and Arce so that tells alot about what Donaire is capable of.. His style is sharp as hell and his punching form is near perfect, i mean how can anybody not like him.. especially a Pinoy boxing fan..

i like him, but saying that he'll be greater than pac is premature. though ill be very glad if he will, but its still too early to say

Surpassing Pacman's status is a bit far fetched, I know, but with the right promotion and with the right support by the fans ( Pinoy fans in particular ) sure he can get just as big.. BUt it's a known fact that the Pinoys wont embrace him like they do with pacman, and I can understand that in some ways.

He has the ability though.. :thumbsup

he has the ability for sure, and we pinoys know that he's more technically sound than pac. don't assume that we don't support him. lots of us think that he's the next big thing (pinoy) along with concepcion. personally, i think that nonito will achieve more than abe concepcion.

Not because he's not a pure Filipino. Because he truly is one, no doubt. Both parents, full blooded Pinoy, was born in the Philippines, lived his first 10 years here.

I dont think it's about being full blooded or half blooded. It's more about exposure.

He was just not given a lot of TV exposure in the Philippines, so people barely knew about him, up until the Darchinyan fight.

Heck, the first time I heard about him was during Glenn Donaire's undercard fights at TOP RANK. The commentator's saying that Glenn's brother is also a TOP RANK sign up. I saw Glenn fight about 2-3 times, and I still havent seen a single Nonito fight.

The first time I saw him fight was on youtube. A grainy, camera phone video clip of his KO win against some Latino guy.

Then came his big break vs Darchinyan.

Donaire is looking like becomig a very good all round fighter but he is not in Pacquiao's league.
